Lilies of the Field

This is my review on Lilies of the Field From the distant future year tod w Griffith of 1963(60 years before Roboteh II The Sentnels)

Its directed by Ralph Nelson who did Duel at Diablo/Embryo 

It stars Sidney Poitier from No Way Out/Blackboard Jungle/The Defiant Ones/The Greatest Story Ever Told/Duel at Diablo/In the Heat of the Night/A Patch of Blue/Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, Lilia Skala from Flashdance, Stanley Adams fr9m Black Patch/Breakfast at Tiffany's/60s The Twilight Zone/The Andy Griffith Show/60s The Addams Family/The Dick Van Dyke Show/60s Batman/Gilligan's Island/60s Star Trek/Star Trek: The Animated Series, Dan Frazer from The Andy Griffith Show/Cleopatra Jones/The Waltons, Jester Hairston from The Alamo/To Kill a Mockingbird, Ralph Nelson from Duel at Diablol, and a bunha guys not on back door, candy a55, beta male, aids bag, Sodom bottom, banana crammer, frooty booty, gender offender, hippie stoner peta vegan tree kung fu based on lants, queer as a deep wit a steer in its rear, Wikipedia, which called the Pro Life film Unplanned a "propaganda film" but not schindlers list or 12 years a slave.

I never saw this b4 but sudney is usually good and its based on a novel i never read by William Edmund Barrett

Sidney won the Oscar for this and was the 1st openly black guy to win one, back when it meant something an they didn't just give it to the most disenfranchised guy

after logo and credits nd title of Sydney driving across a wasteland, he stops and checks his car then goes on

he comes to this place with white chicks as nuns and maybe farmers like a Go Nagai thing anhe needs water for his car

the nuns say the Creator sent a strong man as he pumps the water thing and he sez he's passing through

after filling his cars a55 he drives off and they walk after him to horror music, jk its upbeat music

he checks his wallet and goes back andsez he can work for a day if it pays

they are European men i mena women and they thin he's german cuz he's homer smith and they thin its Schmidt as i guess hes one of th black germans

he goes to fix the roof andgets his tools an apron and they are impressed by him

after working on the roof they offer him a bed but he has a car to sleep in and is finished the work and wants to go

they have him stay for dinner and they pray in german or w/e and he eatsfast and they eat slow so he finished 1st

they say they are from Germany/Austrtia/Hungaria and wanna learn English and listen to a record on how to say English things

he helps em learn English and includes a bit of black talk

later he wakes up under a cloth over his car back and a thing on a rest plan and gets dressed as a nun is there

they want him to do more things and he sez he does what he wants when he wants and they want him to eat lie a polish grandma

he goes to complain and finds they only have 1 egg and no coffee and he eats it in 1 mouth

hes gonna charge em and deduct food butis taken to a starting of a chapple and he dont wanna make it

they say they will and he sez good and is gonna leave but relents and starts work as he dont want th chics to gets f'd by the hard work

later he's teaching em English and later tries to get paid but the head nun dont get English

he gets the bible and its a huge book andhe gets his out and reads from luke of the laboror

she shows probverbs 1 4 and matthew chapter 6  2 8 2 on how the lillies of the field toil and something about Solomon

she wants him to go to mass but hes Baptist and dont go but she sez we got you and he rejects it but goes with it

later he gets his sunday best on and finds they eat after mass nd he drives em to this place and theres some Mexicans

he goes to a restaurant and orders a lot of food and wants to mix milk and meat and tals wih the mexico who works during mass and sez the nuns dont have money and came over the berlin wall and escaped the soviet union but he's teaching em English

restaurant owner sez to ignore them and leav and later the nuns invite the Sydney to talk with the priest whos not mexicao in his trailer who sez the nun sez The Creator set him and he's gonna make her a chapple

he goes on of how he wanted more and is only going through like Sydney sez

they sing bible songs and he starts to sing one but changes to another and wants em to say Amen

latr hes working and wants to leave and then drives the nuns to town what looks like the 50s

he sez bye to em and checks out some heavy machinery and a guy talsk to him about the nuns wanting him to make a chappel and they said he's their contractor

the guy grills him and he sez he's gonna mae a chappel and can do the equipmen and the guy agrees to pay him

he takes the nuns back from the bus station and checks the making place and sez they need 3x the  bricks and asks the Creator for more meat on the table

he wors on it and the nuns write a letter for asking for more money and they struggle with the words

Sydney comes back after shopping and talks with em then later they drive in the car they go to mass again and they make him go with em to Catholic Mass

they show Sydney to the Catholics and say he's not of their faith but is send by The Creator and is maing em a chapel

later Sydney is brick laying and building a wall and tells head nun he's outta bricks and boards but Nun sez The Creator will give em what they need

so they dont have the materials and when he tals with em of it they complain of how they failed cuz she had her faith in humans

he's had enough being their ndentured servant and calls her hit ler and goes off i think

so the nuns try to get along w/o him and walk to church and its the bummer part of the movie

its been 3 weeks and later Sydney comes bakcin shades with a Hawaiian shirt and tieeung the door closed with a rope

they go to church and he is told by head nun to go get breakfast and he seems kinda f'd and has eye issues maybe from a black eye or a tan

Mexico rentaurnat owner ask why he came back and he has a coke and he sez hes back to stay for the guys who wanna now

he clean up wearing pants an no shirt in col water and later the nuns bring in bricks

theres a buncha guys there to help ut Sydney sez he dont need help and sez nun prayed up a lot of bricks but only one man

so he works on it and restaurant guy comes by and sez "this is all yu did in a week? The Creator made the universe in 7 days and rested" and theres the other guys atching

he gets a birck the restaurant guy was footing on andrestaurant Mexican keeps interfering and brings a brick to help and sez if u dont want it, step over it and get another one

sysbdety uses it and the others bring bricks and bit by bit hes falling under their charm andthey work together, even the women

he complains about how he wanted to do it imself and nuns comfort him

later the nuns are talking to people and the people wanna leave but restaurant Mexico sez if Sydney leaves the whoe thing f's out

Sydney takes over and tells em how to make it work and do it right and the nn calls him hti let for beign strict and black

the machinery guy comes by and sees em cooking an animal and mixing cement with foot stomping and the chapel nearly built and not chapel from young blood who blew out his head cuz he got he aids and not from b0ning men

after getting soem done they have lunch and the guy asks where the material came rom and resatuant Mexican sez the people gave it as faith is needed

the guy wants Sydney to foreman a highway hes making but Sydney sez after this hs moving on

they get a chanelienr and later is night an the men party and women pray

Sydney dances and the chicks whine and he does the soviet thing with the squatting kicks

the next day a nun throws water in sydneys face for mixing wine and tequila

a guy i thin its yeah its the highway guy gives em bricks and Sydney wants to crush em for gravel but he sez the bricks were fired up strong

the nuns bug highwayman for more matiernalcs and later he sez howshe ants more and more and will want a hospital and school and only so much is deductible

after putting up the cross he writes in his finger homer smith in the cement and goes in to see the church

nun sez tomorrow is the 1at mas and hopes he will be in front for everyone to see

priest and Mexican restaurant guy come ina dn  priest has a real church to say mass

he sez he made a selfish prayer and the prayer came true through them and hopes to be worthy of trust

the nuns sing and Sydney seems bummed and when nun sez to do more he sez he did it

her English has improved and they go over englaish saying and sing the Amen song

he leavrs as they sing and starts packing up his stuff and drives off as the screen says Amen

then credits sowing who did what like in space balls

The End

that was quite good

great actng and musc and the story was innocent and upbeat

its pure ad clean ans posiive and has good values and heart

its in b/w and i think widescreen and is really feel good

its mild and calm and peaceful and good natured and wholesome

glad i saw this, its really a good watch

And the title being a line fro The Bible was also done in Chariots Of Fire

For Lilies of the Field 2 I want him to come to California and find a excavation of an ancient temple and help out, but as he digs he finds hieroglyphics and images of dinosaurs and uncovers creationist things. Also its a 128 bit game like Harvest Moon on Sega Dreamcast, GameCube, xbox and ps2 where you play as Homer Smith and do excavation games and life simulate and  do diggings for artifacts.
