Judith of Bethulia

This is my review of Judith Of Bethulia from the distant future year (to the marquis de sade) of 1914 (100 years befotre the final ep of season 1 of Robotech)

Its based on a story from sevewral editions of The Bible tat some say is non canon

Its also basred on the play based on the book by Thomas Bailey Aldrich,

Affter Griffith made this, he left Biograph, the company that made films then, and took his loyal crew, like The Confederates in the 1800s, or the Americans in the 1700s, and Biograph didn't release this for a year so they didn't need to pay Griffith

But Griffith won as without him and his droogs, Biograph f;'d out

So after ctredits and a logo, we find the city of Bethulia  is in the hills and giards the way to Jerusalam

It has walls, wells and a chick named Naomi who is loved by Nathan, son of Eliab

The people live and wortk in this ancient way as the ultrsa tech from the past was lost when noah's flood happened

Although some say Enoch hid some of em underground

So this feale gets water from the well and a guy helps her and walks with her

the walls of Bethulia were 50 cubits thick (And 1 Cubit is like around 20ish inches)_ so its around 1000 inches or around 83 feet

Also there's a marlket in the city and people Pray to The God of Abnraham, Isaac and Jacob, insytead of the daemons many chose to serve today

In Bethulia was Judith who's man bit it and is respected by the people

She gives money to poors and heklps Lilian Gish and her kid

At the gate to the city Naomi and Nathan go differewnt ways and the king of the assyrians sent a prince with hisd army to bust up countries in his way

Sorta like with Lothor in Voltron by king Zarkon

they get to the area of Bethulia and the people flee like Japanese from Godzilla and the prince captures the wells

ooh, they're chopping peeople dowm

Naomi is caught by them and Nathan wants to stop em

the p[eople escape intto the citry but the army gets in too

Man its like Germany when the soviets attacked and b0ned all the german women, and some men

wait, i think the soldiers are Israelites , wait, its the bad guys

the prince pitcxhed a tent nearby and has started a base there

so the people are beimng oppressed like its castro taking over cuba

Naomi is taken to be a slave to the prince 

Wait,, the inner part iosd proptected by the walla and the army is fighting against it

good bbattle scene like in intolerance

So Judith spazzes out and gets mad and then  Prays and the battle turns in favor of the Israelites

Thje army backs off and Judith gives thanks to The Lord

Naomi is still enslaved and the prince blames a guy who did stuff for him or lead the force and has him whipped

then meets with his advisors and is gonna wait em out til they run low on food and water

Kinda like stalin and the ukranians, or mao and his millions of victims

So the Israelites have to ration and there;'s not enough to go around, sorta like socialism

women come to Judith for hekp but she sends em away, then she goes out in the city

the prince has his loser workers ended fior being candya55

Judith Prayed and The Lord gave her instruction, then sghe did the sackcloth anbd burned wood dust on her for the Hebrew ritural for being sad

then put on an outfit to look sexy to guys in the, what year is this? I aSSUME its old testamrnt

A wiiki search sez its the time of Nebuchadnezzar, so around 500 BC

So she covers up and goes out of the city with her handmaid and goes to meet the prince or w/e

wait, hes not a p[rince, hes a general, and he takres a sword to a guy on a cross

So Judith goes to his tent and offers to give him her peoples kingdom, also she shows off her dress to him and he likes her

So hes so into her, he lets her into his personal camp and had his cheif neitered slave work for her

you gotta be pretty siuck to take a mans parts so he wont find giorls hot

then agauin; these are the bad guys

what next?cutting out someones tongue so they don't spoil their dinner?

Judith is kkinda liking the general and thinks hes not so bad

then agfain, Joseph was friend with the pharaoh who had people executed for triggering him

a young captsain tries to get water andhis droogs go with him as they see the enemy wasting water to mock them

A while ago i have thoughts about the people i hate like if we were in a bad country, and they were thrown in a  cage and set on fire for not worshipping their gods, i'd be laughing and drinking a mountain dew while yelling BURN YOU C=CK SUCKERS!!!

man i sound like a piece of sh=t

doesn't help that the bad guys in here did it

so the Israelites attack and scare off the enemy

they get to the wells, but its a trap and the chariots come for em woith reinforcements anmd end em

there's some Israelite Snipers like with j fk amd theres a big diusty battle that coovewrs the area too look like more is happening

the battle gets to the walls and the general is obsessed with Judith and wantsa only her

Also Naomi and Nathan long for each other

the general has no interest in the 5kanks from his daemon temple

But Judith is falling for him and strugggles with what to do

She asks The Lord for help and goes toi the general who invites her to Ninevah, which I think Jonah helpeed fix

so she invites him for some 1 night stuff and gets him drunk when they are alone

She's gonna do some necking, and by that i mean blasde through neck tiol head is off, but struggles as shes into him

she thinks of her people who need her to end him, like with shinji and kaworu in evangelion, but this one came 1st, and isn't gay

so she raises the blade, it cuts to another place, then back and something rolls on the ground and the bosdy spazzes out

pretty bada55 for a pre ww1 film

she gets get handmaid and takes his head, like that japanese chick wjo took off hwer bf's psarts, and leaves with it

She gets back to the ciuty and brings in the head of the guy they probly never saw and probably looks like all the other guyts from the emnemy force

at the base camp 1 of the 5kanks finds his  body and the Israelites attack as w/o theirt commander, they can';t stop em

Nathan runs artound in the burning camp and finds Naomi tied to a post and saves her as the camp burns

So the people get water and give thanks to The Lord for saving them and the bad guys are driven out

Judith is a hero as she seduced an enemy and assassinated him

So she's a Ninja? A Kunoichi?

that wasd pretty good

nice story, good acting and 4effects, cool battle scenes and effects

its based on actual evemts, maybe, and has good themes of duty, honor, sacrifice and faith

Soirta like a Samurai tthing

I liked this one and its another win by D W Griffith

He was the Atari of movies, started many standards, but was left behind by others who used his innovations and advanced beyond

Imagine if the hostory channel aired this instead of cr-ppy cannibal remakeslike the texas chainsaw massacre

this one holds up and is only like an hour long

I liked it. Blanche Swewet does quite wewll in here

For Judith of Bethulia 2 I want it to be about the son of Naomi and Nathan going on an adventure to find this ancient treasure from Enoch's time that wwas recently discovered and keep it from the enemies of Israel, Also its a 32/64 bit action game on N64, Sega Saturn, PS1 and 3D0 like Zelda where you fight ancient animals fromn before Noah's flood and some offspring of man and fallen angel that you use holy weapons to battle, later they get lazer plazma cannons to fight you and you gotta get some and use it on em.
