I'vve seen this before and its a very well made film
Griffith was the Atari of movies; started a lot of standards but was left behind by those who advanced beyond them
Many hate this movie without seeing cuz its got the Klan in it and not as the bad guys
But this was made by/for/about people fromn the 1800s, that's how people felt back them
I'm not saying I feel that way, or you should feel that way, but w shoul;dn;'t censor history to fit todays standards
thats how they do things in 1984
Then again, i think kost people will skip this review cuz they heard the movie has things in it they might niot like and jump to conclusions
also; despire my klan jokes, I am not a member as I'm; polish/sloveniuan, have japanese cousins, a portuguese gf, most of my friends are black and italiano, I pray for Israel, and I got freinds in mexzico and brazil
just cuz i tell jokes of racism doesnt mean i support it

well, most of the time, this one time in the 80s, i got a blood transfusion, thats similar, taking material from 1 man to another and using it for digestion before pooping it out
but unlike most peopel who dump on this film, i actually saw it and i recall liking it as it told the story well
plus many things in here were based on actual events of the era
Thomas W Dixon made this as a counter to things making the South look bad like Uncle Toms Cabin
Thne again, we got law and order SVU and other things dealing with trendy issues from a hiughly slanted view
Also; Griffith was not racist for making 1 movie with the klan as the good guys, he did other works with them as the bad guys and supported the indians
also is ron howard and tom hanks racist agaiunst Catholics for the da vinci code movies? they made 3 in a row
oh and what many people don't know, is that the klan had several eras, with the 2nd era in the 20s being denounced byt supporters of the 1st for having different views
Thomas Dixon did Nation Aflame with a non copyrighted Klan and their rise and fall as the bad guys
also they weren't racist in origin, but started as a club for civil war survivors who played pranks, then 1 guy dressed up as a ghost to scare people and things went from there
Southern Hero Nathan Bedford Forrest called for them to disband after they turned violent
So after logo and stuff we get text saying this shouldnt be censored and means not to offend but they show the dark side of wrong to illuminate the bright side of right like Shakespere and The Bible

in soputh carolina is the camerons who live in a nice way as a cart with indentured servanyts goes by, 2 kids afall out and a guy gets em back
despite this being 1860s thweres lightbulbns on poles in the road
mr cameron smokes a cigarand has pet dogs and when a CAT LANDS ON 1 IT CLASHES
ben cameron gets a letter from gish saying shes comming and the little blonde girl cameron like speilburg always has is hapopy
the stonemen meet the camerons like when the flintstones met the jetsons and they have fun and play around and 1 gfuy is into 1 girl from each family
elsewhere the indentured servants puick cotton and the 2 fams have members loking at the cotton plant and 1 takes a sample and sees a picture of hish in the locket by one of the stoneman boys thing
he keepts the locket and a ttitle card says the iondentured servantsd worked from 6 to 6 with a 2 hour break ionbetween, which i did at the juice plant when i got there at 7 and worked til noon, then after the machine needed work, we waited for 2 hours and i played sonic dusk adventure
aso the indentured servants dance and have fun on their 2 hour break and the masters hang out with them and shake hands
1 thing people hate about this is that it shows slavery as not the holocost, but there are much worse things than slavery, my grandpa was a slave in ww2 poland and didn't enjoy it much, but my toher grnadpa was in the war and had a far worse time with having to kill his fellow man and having people trying to kill him
not to be pro slave owners rights, but it beats being chopped up or put to sleep like in soviet canada
but theres danger in the air as the south wants to succeed and the dont dont wanna let them escape
whcih is kinda ironic as America started with the 13 colonies succeeding from soviet england
and many claim the civil war was about slavery, but if you look at the evidence, you'll see that lincon was treating the south bad with hiugh taxes and locking pewople up for criticizing him and shutting down papers who disagreed with him and the south had enought of his cr-p
if you ask the civil wAR SURVIVORS, AS WAS DONE IN THE 30S, THEY SAID "IT WAS ABOUT STATES RIGHTS" WHIUCH was the right to succeed, which was part of the charter of some places when they joined the revolutionists in 1776
so stoneman was in washington where gish never visited and talking with the leader of the senate and he looks like a ken ishikaewa character like dr saotome or a magical beast front guy
stoneman stazzes ouit and his maid hears and drops the senate leader charles summers hat when he comes for it
as he leaves she spits and spazzes out on the floor and when he comes out he comforts her
i gotta say, when i watch this, i could skip ahead, but its filmed so well it makes you wanna keep watching
so the stoneman boys go home and 1 wants to be loyal to the cameron daughter and be her forever boyfriend as the bad dub of the winx club would say
then lincon calls for 75000 volunteers to enforce his will against the Americans who he dont like
Was Abe Lincon really an ALIEN? Ancient Astronaut Scholars, say YES!
Fhotoes of lincon show him wearing a stovepipe hat, but IF his head took up the whole hat, he would have had an elongated cranium, like many of alien ancestry!

in the battle at bill ruin the south di well i thinkand the people celebrate with a captured flag
wait i think its going to happen cuz its the next day now and the people see the troops off
tyhe boys were dancing all night and now gotta go and the cameropn boys are seen off buy thewir fam
a lot of people think the confederate flag is a "hate" symbol, bu really, now its southern pride
they celebrate queer pride but see southern pride as bad
but i have friends in the south and they are nice people with a good sense of humor and are friendly and kind
also the american flag was used by slave owners in the past too and people dont want it banned, yet
people dump on george washington for doing 1700s things in the 1700s

at home, she reads a letter from ben and then a unionite force attacks the south town and the cameron girls hide inside as they swarm in
this is based on how the north did a lot of war crime with raiding and looting and raeping and killing southerners and back door lincon was in favor of it and laughed at shermans war crimes
people dump on Japan over allegations of ww2 things to haijin., but the unionites did evil too
the cameron dad is iced by unionites and the girls hide in a celler as the unionites raepe the tyown
this is like living in LA with all thiose gangs and malcontents attacking and shooting up the place and raeping people and cr-pping on the floor and doing drugs aND EATING PEOPLE
THe confederates hear of the attack and race to protect it but the uunionites are torching the place so the smoky battl;efield looks like more is going on than visible
after the iunuointies are driven out by the confederates, the camerons use water to put out the burning house
ben has grown a moustache and hears lettters from home and likes the locket of lilian gish but dowesnt j-rk off to it cuz hes not a devilved sub human
on the battlefield c stoneman sees a ameron dying and hesitates and isd shot and died with his friend
showing how war turns good friends into enemies and ruins things
My grandpa in Slovania wrnt back after 50 years as he was fighting in the Home Guard against the commies and talked with a guy on the commies side
he said he was told how the enemy was evil and must be stoipped and was sub human, btu they werte lied to and made to kil their fellow man
my grandpa sdaid he was told the same thing and agreed and these war enemies reconsilked
so gish and stoneman hear of stoneman jrs end and feel bummed and in the South the camerons sell their clothes for the war enffort like in gone with the wind
sister cameron is ok with her dress and gish works in a hospital
the uniuonite army marches to the sea and destroys everything in its way as women and children hide in the woods
the city burns and its like in gone with the wind as the unionites spread chaos and evil
people flee as ben i mean anothe cameron bites it and theres good editionmg of the city adndf people in 2 shots combined into 1
so the south is going down and has only dry corn but food train was cut off by unionite troops so General Rober E Lee an NOT EmiLY ROBERTs from stiudent Bodies orders a mission to save it
a battle btreaks out and its pretty epic and well filmed
ben the little colonel is given an order to charge and we see the battlefield in a full display of smoke and cannons
imagine being inn 1915 and the movies you're used to are only 20 minute vaudville things? this would blor wour mind!
benny leadfs an attack against captain stoneman and the enemy fires their rifles with bursts and cannonb fire
mr cameron is astill alive and he and his fam pray for their son and ben and his men make it to the other side and bring down the unionite thing
wait they get f;d but ben aids a fallen unionite by giving him water that earns cheers from the unionitds
then leads 1 final charge and ben gets wounded but jams a confedetate flag in this cannon and keels over as stoneman recongizes him and gets him help
after the battle many are dead but they are only resting and will be ok after getting fixed up at a hospital planet in the tv version
the fighting contines and the unionites win and the Camerons hear of theur 2nd sons end and their 1st sons wounds in the hospital and things seem bad
in the hioosptial ben is trewated by gish known as elise stineman and she plays banjo for him and looks wholesome and pretty but not lusty, but in a pure way
phil stoneman the son who saved ben sends a letter asking for help for his homie benito and ben likes elise and they getta long
its kinda likable and wholesome and pure and loving and affectionate
this is a good movie, people only focus on the things they see as bad and miss all the good moments
mrs cameron goes to see her son and has chutzpa by telling the unionite"im going ina dnu can shoot if you want to"
southern chicks are tough, like Polish chicks
so a surgeon who doesnt tale off kids man parts tells her a secret influnce has ordered ben hanged as a geurrila, which is ironic as the unioniters did WAY worse than the south
lincon meets people and elise and ma cameron meet him and ask about ben and its shown without titlecards but with images and he writes a pardon
that dont make up for his war crimes and starting the civil war
otherwise mussolini saving his homies made up for his acts
ma cameron tewlls ben lincon spared hjim and goes back to look after her husband
banny has a nice moment with elise and they have something going on but not in a b0ning way
then the right honorable robert e lee surrenders to the evil ulysses s grant, who wanted to have jews removed from the areas near the south for fear they might sell to the south
plus that slavery thing
so cameron goes home and says bye to elkise and almost kisses her mouth but instead does her hand
he looks kindfa like robert goulet
so at home they have corn and sweet potato coffee and wear raw cotton which was something i did not know the south did
well kid sister cameron does it and looks cool and bven comes home and sees her wearing it and she hugs him dearly
but stoimena is agaiunst lincons ideas for mercy on thew south, which i question as he was kind of a tyrant and i doubt would allow it for those who defy hium
then again, don bluth;s anastasia made Rasputin look evil and he was a nice guy accuused to make the Czar look bad, who also was a nice guy
stoneman wants the south leaders executed and theem dominated but is denied
also i read that lincon wanted to sedn the slaves back to africa but was wacked b4 he could, and the scene was possibly made for this movire but cut and lost
so they claim lincon was gonna let the south rebuild itslef, which THEy claimn "reconstructiuion was not as bad as the south claims" but tTHEy necer say WHy the south NEEDEd to be reconstructed
its cuz of the unionites attacks against them!

stoneman dont like it and lybnch wants to starscram his way into making himself ruler, which seems like g i joe and transformers got inspirtation from thius

phil stoneman spends time with her and she has flashbacks to hewr brother getting it
ben grtowa closer to elise and she seems more distant and goers offand cries and they reconsile
after totally not b0ning as this is a clean film, it fakes baclk amnd they walk over and she goes in her room and spazzes out
on election day the non whites vote for the candidates they want and the Whites are not allowed to vote, like with the media making some groups seem better than others and others are cancelled for being "offensive

some kjlansmen see the cabin under attack and go fgor help and other are gunned down by the enemy militia
sop eventually the malcontents are driven back by the klan and lynch captures gish and is gonna brwak for it as her dad is under gunpooint
the klan comes in ad ben saves gish and they get lynch at gunpoint and word of the cabin attack reaches them
after 1 big battle comes a smaller one where the klan rides out to save the camerons at the cabin
the militia is swarming trhe cabin and breaking in and is nailed in the head by menbers of both races decfending against them
they milita breaks in and takes out a unionite and those in the inner dssaxcntum block the doors as the bad guys poind on em

its a gripping tale that you wanna keep watching to see where it goes even if you've seen it before
it has heart, emotion and amazing technical ability
it changed the way film was made and was the top earning film for decades until gone with the wind
some say it grossed over 1 billion in todays money
it tells a story with skill and effort and while you may not like the story, its still doing a good job of it
also the kjlan doesnt come in til the last 3rd of the film and much of the film is just showing how people in the era lived before during and aftert the war
