Game Reviews Volume 5 From 2019 Part II

More thoughts on games I beat over the years

This one is from most of the 2nd 3rd of 2019

I beat Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos. Good game. Easier a bit than the 1st one. Partly because of the shadow clones, partly because I beat the NES and Master System versions and gained skill, Patyly because its not as annoying with enemys. Cutscenes are still good but the story has less twists. Godo control but often I miss with my blade and take a hit or have to keep trying. Plus often I face the wrong way when jumping and gotta try again. Less cheap level designs and new ninja magic is nice. Being able to climb any wall instead of just ladder walls helps. Plus being able to use ninja magic on the wall is cool. Not sure if it was in the 1st game but ninja scrolls that increase your max ninja power that come back after game overs make the game easier. Plus one item fully fills the ninja power. Plus each enemy hit oly takes 1 bar of life and other games took more I think. Oh and the ending is a reverse Castlevania Lament Of Innocence where your item becomes your gf. I liked this one and I'm glad I played it. In many ways, an upgrade from the 1st.

I beat Ninja Gaiden 3 It had a few things better than the others like the enemies don't respawn endlessly. But the gameplay was more annoying than the past 2. I used a save thing so i wouldn't be there all night and so I could play it over the day and take breaks for meals and volunteer work. But I made sure only to save after bating a level after I got through with full or near full life to show I could master it. The knockback is there but seems less intense. Although if an enemy keeps plowing into you it keeps forcing you back so cheap kills there. No birds but there are big wasp looking robots that do similar. There is the chance of glitching it so the enemy goes offscreen and vanishes but it can come back if you go back. The bosses ain't bad but can be irritating. Also your life doesn't refill after a cutscene. No shadow clones but there's a double blade that does above and below for a bit. You can crawl under railings but some parts look like platforms but are just background. There's limited continues this time around but it is beatable with practice. Lots and lots of practice. The sword power up is good but without it its easy to miss. Often I'm right on em and swinging and the foe evades. Also there's a buncha foes on the ground so you gotta crouch. Plus the controls feel worse. Often I go to jump on a wall and he stops right in front of it. Also its too easy to face the wrong way and get nailed by foes. On the bio level I beat the boss but he was busting so long I sunk into the floor and died. I'd say its the least fun of the 5 NG games I played (1 2 3 Master System GB) but its not a bad game. Its just got issues. Oh and enemies take like 3 bars of life each hit and spikes take around half the whole meter.

Just beat Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on Genesis. I used Sindel and a code to get 35 credits but had 12 left at the end. Pretty good game. Good graphics and music. Controls well. Each character has something good. Good story. I used a trick with Sindel to loop my foe by after knocking em down I used the scream move to stun em, then uppercut em down again. Pretty useful in the 2 on 1 levels with I gotta fight 2 guys on 1 life bar. It didn't always work and using a 6 button pad was kinda annoying. Show Khan is a worthy game boss. He hits hard and fast and I was able to win by fighting defensively. I crouched and blocked and when I got the chance, did an uppercut like when he did his air move. He tanks hits easy too. I burned through 17 continues to beat him and it was still close. I only recently learned how to get more continues by that Console Wars ep on it. Good game and pretty tough. But I'm glad I beat it. Only cost like 5$ used cartridge only.

Just beat Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict on my Game Gear Collection. It was the fan translated ver and is set between Shining Force 1 and 2 and connects the 2 games. Its got good story and music and the colors are bright and fun. Its quite forgiving with if you bite it, you keep all exp and items and you get to try again with only losing some cash. You can unlock other party members and items and even if you miss you still get exp. You get more exp for fighting stronger guys but if you get too strong then you get less. I think its always 100 exp to get a level. Max level is 20 but you can reset level 1 by a class upgrade. If a guy bites it, just pay to revive him, but they seem to get revived between chapters. Good game with good stuff and I'm glad I got around to playing this. The Game Gear had some grand titles on it

Just beat Mega Man X5. I liked it. It had good 90s style music. The controls were ok but some parts were kinda off. The part with the Ride Armor in the lava level was hard to jump out of. Unless I didn't wanna jump out and it just killed me. A few times I was standing still and died. Eventually I just used the Falcon Armor to fly over the lava and get the armor. The Falcon Armor is cool to ignore enemies but the Gaea Armor is a power house that takes and gives damage hard. The bosses weren't too tough and it was good to have Auto Charge and Rapid Fire options. But making special weapons its own button was kind of a bad idea. If I'm using a special weapon then I'm not using my X Buster. I used X for this and not once used Zero. People bashed this one for making you backtrack but I didn't mind. Also doing so lets you use the new Armors where as if you didn't have to, you might not ever try em. X has 5 formes in this and each has its uses. The Ultimate Armor was cool but took getting used to after using the other Armors. People complained about Duff McWhalen's level but I didn't mind it. You get unlimited continues and it saves regularly. the multiple endings being determined by random chance isn't too bad as i didn't have to play the game in a special way to get the ending i wanted. i got the one where Zero doesn't turn Maverick and X continues with his memories of him. Sigma was tough but not impossible. Plus they give you a high dose of health right before facing him to refill Sub Tanks and if you game over it starts you back there. I liked this one and felt it was pretty cool. Oh and the credits music is like a bad 90s made for Tv movie.

So I beat Columns on my Master System Collection. I went to Flash Columns and set it to the highest settings. I had to clear this 1 shining jewel at the bottom of a huge pile. It took a lot of tries and my eyes starting going from looking at that small thing and making out the small pieces. Eventually I cleared a path but it it tense as any mistake would end my run and make me start over. I eventually got the right piece after stacking the wrong ones on the side and was running outta room. Good game, good colors and music. You gotta line up 3 or more jewels in a vertical, diagonal or horizontal line. Once they go, the remaining jewels fall and if they line up, they go too in a chain reaction. There's a magic jewel that clears all blocks of whatever color you put it on. In the 8 bit ver, you can change how many types of jewels appear or change em to blocks or fruits or symbols. But I stuck to regular jewels as I'm more used to em from the 16 bit ver. Good game. Plays well and is just a solid experience.

Just beat Avenging Spirit on Gameboy. You play as a ghost who's trying to save his gf he bit it trying to help. Not Patrick Swayze. You get to possess bad guys and use em to fight. Each has its own life bar and attack. If they bite it you have until your power bar goes out before your ghost bites it to possess another guy. Its got sort of a sci fi and supernatural feel with some weird oni worm or a construction vehicle as bosses. You gotta get 3 keys over the levels to unlock the cell door keeping her in there and once you unlock her, you play as her and have a super laser that creams everything to fight the final boss (who isnt so tough). There's infinity continues and around a half dozen levels but biting it on a level sends you back to the start of the level you were just on. It took me over an hour to get through and after beating it, you get an anime cutscene of the girl saying bye to her ghost bf like in that Demi Moore movie. Its pretty good and I'm glad I got it.

So I beast Tekken Advance today using Nina. It was my 1st try at it besides a training mode a few hours before I got around to doing it. Its pretty good. Not too hard for me. Simple controls. Jump kicking the foe in the head isn't as possible as in KOF or Street Fighter or MK but I find running kicks are good. Its got a semi 3d thing where you can dodge by going sideways toward or away from the camera. Good graphics and music and its got voices from the Japanese version (Including one of my fave's, Daisuke Gouri as Heihachi). King and the Hwoarang gave me the most trouble and took a few tries to beat. Heihachi was a good final boss as he was strong and a good challenge, without being impossible or unfair like Shao Khan. It was a pretty solid game and reminded me of Virtua Fighter 2 on Genesis. Good game. Glad i finally played it.

So I beat Street Smart on Sega Genesis. Not bad a game. You play as an orange Gi Karate guy who fights beat em up style against a buncha muscley guys. Some are huge like small Autobots. You can bet on you or the foe and whoever goes down 1st, decides who gets the cash you bet. You get several continues and can have several lives per fight (that don't replenish) and losing 1 counts for the bet (but you still continue the battle with a new life bar). You can get skill points after each round to beef up your Life, Power and Def permanently (sorta like Deadly Moves but easier to manage). After each fight you are seen with some blonde in a skimpy outfit and at the end of the game, you get a still depending on how much cash you got. The game gets easier as it goes on with beefed up stats and its a good brisk game that can be beat in like half an hour. The game boss looks sorta like Axel Hawk from Fatal Fury 2. The sailor guy is kinda obnoxious. The blows only hit on the end of the limb so if you are on top of the foe you can't harm each other. Good cheerful colors and happy 80s music. Glad I got this one. It cost me 27$.

I just got through the 1st NES Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on my NEs collection on GBA. I used Save states as otherwise it would take me forever. Pretty unforgiving, esp the later levels. I like how each turtle gets its own moves and each can carry a ranged item(but if you collect a new one its replaced and all ammo you had for it) I used a youtube vid to see where to go as its a maze at times. The bosses are actually not bad. But the level designs are kinda unfair. Its got good control and music and each turtle does different damage and has different reach. You can go into places and back again over and over to restock on items and health. Not sure about lives or continues but i think if you lose a turlte you can't get him back. I read you can get em back tough I haven't tries it. I stocked up on the ninja scroll weapon for Raf and Mikey so I could get through the later parts. The last level is a nightmare. High damage. Enemies that don't give much room. places you gotta take a hit to get through. Few recovery items. The water level is pretty awful too as you gotta do it fast and its easy to rack up damage. i liked it but I'd have to sink a lot of hours in it over and over to get through on 1 playthrough.

Just beat Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle on Sega Genesis. I kinda see why they went with Sonic. The jumping is kinda iffy and the jump kicks don't work often. The final level is a gauntlet and the paper scissors rock fights are kinda yeah. But the items you can get like the necklace that shows your opponents moves or the invincibility cape make it more balanced. The game isn't too hard but that mountain level before the sky level was kinda bad. Plus going back to the mountain level if you fall in the sky level. I like the hidden areas and multiple continues but having to go to the options to continue is unintuitive. In the water you always float up unless button pressed otherwise. And 1 hit kills are sorta Bubsy. The game boss has 3 fights, 2 paper scissors rock battles, and an actual fight where he throws fists and you gotta punch him. The invincibility cloak makes this simple. It cost me 16$ Canadian with the middle man but I think it was decent. For an early 16 bit game its got good music and colors and the plot don't really ad up but I liked it. Simple with flaws but not ruined. Oh and I think Planet Aries is supposted to be Mars.

Just played Landstalker on Genesis for 40 mins. The controls are really bad. You gotta adapt to em and that takes some time. It hurts my wrist and hand to move on the D Pad diagonally while screwing around to get the character to move in the right way. I often don't know if I can go into doors or not because of it. Pressing up or down makes you go in a line. But left and right also makes you go in that line. Other than that its pretty good. Good story, graphics and music.

Just beat TMNT on NES Legit. I did use a save state to skip the 1st 2 levels after being them but only to save time as I already mastered those. It can be annoying and many things the AVGN said are true. You get 2 continues and if you lose a turtle he don't come back until you use a continue or find a hidden spot i never found. You can actually swap weapons by throwing the boomerang with 1 turtle and switching to another so he catches it when it . returns. The bosses are kinda easy and if you jump to the right platform and throw boomerangs to the left, Shredder will keep jumping into em in a loop. But he can kill you in 1 hit with his magic gun so its cool. If a turtle bites it the other turtles don't recover health, even if you beat a level. It can be beat in like 30 mins if you know what you are doing. Its hard and I think Battletoads was a better game, but its not awful. The music is good and the graphics are nice and it controls sorta well. But enemies can trap you and drain health unless you hit em. Oh and they respawn if you leave the near area.

Just beat Battle Unit Zeoth on Gameboy. Good early GB game. 5 levels. Even numbered ones are vertical. Good Mech style Shmup. Good graphics. Good music. Infinite continues and no lives. If you bite it you gotta start the lv over even if on a boss. Good power up system with different weapons and levels of power. The bosses are big and cool but go down fast if you got the right power up. I hear you can use your life bar as a super move but I never tried it. Its a quick simple nice clean game that can be beat in like 15 mins in a perfect run. Instead of jumping you boost as long as you hold the jump button so you can do a hop or a climb. Holding fire auto shoots so its not too tricky. Cost me 24$ and I'm glad I got it.

Just beat Submarine Attack on my Master System Collection. Good game. Simple shmup but under water. You got 2 shots: straight forward and in an arc from the top. The power ups are gotten by busting smaller subs like Health, Speed and Attack boosts. Good music and graphics with nice bright colors and designs. You get 2 extra guys (3 tries in total) and unlimited continues so there's no reason not to beat it. Each level looks different with under water cities and metal bases and the bosses are big and bold. I think if you fall on a boss and have guys left, the damage stays until you use a continue. If you bite it in a level, you stay alive for a second so you think you're ok then bust, only to respawn a second later w/o any power ups. The sub is pretty slow w/o any boosts but its not game breaking. I liked this one and I'm glad I got it.

So I beat Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars on my Master System Collection.  Pretty simple. Nice graphics and music. Unlimited continues. You actually get a life bar for once so you done bite it in 1 hit. But it slowly goes down so its also a time bar and sorta like Wonder Boy.Adventure Island. After you get through the levels you gotta do it again to collect the other 6 Zodiac signs. No actual bosses you gotta beat but there's usually a guy at the end who throws things that send you back to the edge of the screen and off some life. Its easy to get stuck in a loop against these guys with their small projectiles and Alex being pretty big to em. There are power ups like refilling a bit of life or getting a tornado attack that goes forward. Its not too hard but if you fall in a pit it sends you back a bit. Run outta power and restart the whole level. Its fair and lite but not awful. Just sorta Simple. Glad I got around to doing this.

Just Beat Landstalker on Genesis. What an ordeal. It took nearly a month to get through. The music is great as ae the graphics. But the control. Ohhhhhhh! Its an isometric action game where you are an elf with a faery who helps you as you solve puzzles and fight baddz with a blade. But unlike Zelda, its on an angle. You gotta go diagonal on a Genesis D Pad. And its hard to line him up just right without him wiggling all over or walking into walls. Later you gotta jump and change direction in mid air to get around a corner. There are no shadows so you gotta guestimate where things are. And with the isometric perspective, something to the left and up, looks diagonally on the same level. You get stronger by finding Life Stock which are big yellow fuzzy hearts that add an extra point to your life and, with enough collected, increase your attack power. You can get items and new armor or weapons and each gives you different stuff. There are trees you can warp through after clearing a big tree of daemons. There are a variety of npc's who say different things and a few plot twists. Its not hard and really likable but that control system is pretty demented. I think it looks and sounds better than Light Crusader but plays worse as you are stuck on an X Grid. Plus that last level keeps sending you back to the bottom as you attempt to climb to the top. The bosses ain't hard and eventually you get a blade that makes earthquakes when fully charged. You really feel like you are advancing with all the life ups you find everywhere. I'm glad I got this and was able to beat it. I eventually adapted to the controls but it was still rough. I finally understand why everyone gave it 6/10.

Just beat Flame of Recca on GBA. I imported it from Japan and its by Konami. Its a fighting game based on an anime/manga I never saw but was dubbed by Blue Water Studios who did G Gundam and DB/DBGT. Its pretty simple. B punch A blast and R block. You got a story but I know little Japanese so I only got a few random words. You can double jump by Up+Up and drop through floors with Down+Down. Its from 2001 so its one of the earlier GBA games but its good. It controls well and can nice music and looks. Good animation but at times I was facing the wrong way and had to reorient. Unlimited continues and plenty unlockables like power moves by holding R+ a direction + A or B but I didn'rt really need em. I used Fuko as I like wind and am a Gemini(air sign). Its playable without knowing Japanese. The bosses who game me most trouble were Sigma and the game boss. I beat Sigma by blocking and attacking after he attacked. It was easy to get the bad guys in a loop. Mostly easy but a few tough fights. You an unlock a lot of things but the guy I ordered this from already unlocked it and I figured I'd rather not delete it to unlock it again. Each fighter looks different and plays in their own way and the 2nd last boss is a big abomination you gotta hit in its top to open its lower eye for more damage. I liked this game and I'm glad I got it. Only cost 18$ Canadian. Solid fighting game.

Just beat Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. I used a youtube vid to show where to go so I wasn't walking around for days. It looks good. Has good music and the controls are like the other 8 bit Castlevania's. You got a days system to determine what ending you get and a day/night cycle where towns are open in day and baddz are tougher at night. Also is leveling up by killing bad guys but each lv up makes weaker foes give no exp. After getting Dracula's parts you can equip them to get powers like a shield or breaking blocks and you buy items but there's no ammo so just getting it gives you unlimited uses of it. Plus getting upgrades from talking to people. Lots pf secret areas often found by throwing holy water and the bosses ain't really tough. Dracula is easy if you spasm holy fire. Its got lives where you respawn where you died but using continues or passwords is different. Hearts are money here and churches heal you but leveling up also does this. Time goes by for the day/night thing but not inside buildings or mansions so you can grind for exp or hearts in there w/o it going by. I liked it., But if I had to go in w/o a guide or even Nintendo Power it would be pretty tough. I did get the good ending though and I'm glad I gave this a chance. Its inspired later games so its sort of Metroidvania 0.

Game Reviews Volume 4 From 2019

More thoughts on games I beat over the years

This one is from most of the 1st 3rd of 2019

So I beat Breath Of Fire 2 on GBA. Grand game. Good development of story and characters. A true improvement over the 1st one. More attention to detail in the characters and good twists. The character who caused so much issue being the one you met 1st was a good twist. Looking back, the hair was a hint. Good tie ins to the 1st game. Glad I got it. Although I got the bad ending despite saving the guy in the machine.

I Just beat Gargoyle's Quest II on my NES GBA collection. Good game. Plays like the 1st but with a few differences like levels ands bosses. Good NES music and graphics. The hover and jump takes some getting used to as you gotta press jump again to hover and once more to drop. And it runs out on its own. The last level is tricky but I got through. Although there's some parts where I don't see how to get by w/o taking a hit. I like how you get stronger as you go on and get better abilities and attacks. some parts were tough but not impossible. Glad I played this game

After like 4 hours of playing I finaly beat The G.G. Shinobi II: The Silent Fury on my 100 Master System/Game Gear GBA collection. Good game. You unlock several color coded Ninja with different abilities to collect the color crystals (Jason: All right rangers! Power up your crystals!) and go through 5 levels to beat these 5 similar evil ninja (Psycho Rangers??). It controls well and has good music and graphics. You got ninja magic that resets to 0 if you use a continue but theres plenty of to collect. If you exit a room and return, all power ups return so you can keep getting 1UPs. The final level is a gauntlet and is what I spent most of my playtime on. 1 hit kill spikes. disappearing floors. And fighting the bosses over. If you got all the life extenders its not so bad and bosses can be taken out in attrition. The game boss is nuts with all the powers of the evil ninja and a 2nd forme that has all the boss attacks. He takes 10 hits but his attacks can bust you down. There's infinite continues and a password and if you bite it you return to the last door you went through. But using a continue returns you to the level select screen. Glad I eventually played it. My thigh was sore after sitting for 4 hours while playing that final level over and over.

So I beat Arkanoid DS. Good game. Its got various music similar to 90s and DDR and a bit Mazinger Z. Good variety of levels with branching baths after a zone is cleared to beat the 7 bosses and after all bosses are cleared you face the final challenge. In that you go through these 30 regular zones then a branching path at the end to 3 final bosses. After you play through that, do it 2x more and beat all 3 and its done. I liked the power ups. My fave was the B that busts through bricks instead of rebounding. The Laser was good but hard to use as the ball moves too fast at times and you gotta keep moving around instead of aiming. The Catch was good at times but often slowed things down too much having to tap the screen to release over and over. At times the ball would get caught in a loop but eventually get out on its own. I loved Arkanoid as a kid on my moms computer and this was a good sequel. Good story about freeing your friends from aliens too. Something the people today can relate to. I got this game used for 5$ cartridge only and I'm glad I got it.

I beat Crystal Warriors on my Game Gear Collection. Good SRPG. Simple paper/scissors/rock style. You can tame monsters by beating em and use em as stand ins for battle. If a character bites it they cant come back. There's weapon upgrades and saves between all 16 chapters. The story is told in scrolling text before and after the game and by talking to villages in between chapters. Good simple 8 bit color graphics and music. Kinda basic but sometimes its good not to have to master a complex system and play a lite game. If you are getting into SRPG's this is a good one to start on. Oh and you don;t get much cash so sometimes you gotta choose between hiring 1 of 2 guys or getting good spells and armor. No in battle items or power ups. Oh and the max level is 9 and each battle gives 4 exp. It takes like 10 exp to each level. Glad I got this.

It Took 18 hours on playing in a row, but I beat Kirby's Star Stacker. Its a good game with several challenge levels. You gotta match Kirby's friends on either side of stars to clear em. Run out of room in the middle columns and try again. Infinity continues. The final difficulty "insane mode"has 50 levels each with its own puzzle to solve. good game but its pretty hard. Its sorta like Columns on Sega Genesis. I got it for a few bucks and Ii think it was worth it. Its got Chain Reactions where a piece falls and connects to others and so on. I didn't think it would take so long and my leg is sore from sitting for so long.

I just beat Nadia the Secret of Blue Water on Sega Genesis. Wonderful game  Its kind of like Zelda but no actual combat. Just using items in the right spot. Really story driven. Sort of like a visual novel but with moving sprites around. I've never really played anything like it before. Its based on an 80s anime I never saw that was based on 20 000 Leagues Under The Sea by Jules Verne. Its influenced by Robotech/Macross and was done by Gainax/Toho. Its got deep characters that have complex backstories, Enemies become friends and vice versa, crazy 1800s sci fi with ancient stuff. No lives but if you bite it you continue at the start of the area you went to. Simple password system where 1 word from the chapter is the password (And its case sensitive) Really great graphics and music. Genesis Piano moves the heart. Its got some twists and good motives for characters and I almost cried in the ending parts. Just feels all over. Great game. Glad I got a copy of it for like 27$. If you can't see the anime, this is the next best thing.

I beat Disney's Magical Quest Starring Mickey & Minnie on GBA. Its a port of a SNES game by Capcom and is pretty good. It was weird playing a game with good control after Bubsy and other less good games. It took me a while to figure out how to change costumes. Use L to select and R to confirm. My L/R DS buttons are kinda bad so I went through most of the game with whatever costume I was just given. It worked until the last level and I had to change. Good controls and graphics. Infinite continues and a save system that remembers even what costume you were wearing and what room you were in. Simple light game with big colorful bosses and good music/graphics. Glad I picked this one up.

I beat Sonic Blast on my Master System collection. Nor bad game. Kind of a Donkey Kong Country but not as bad. Control is a bit off and its not responsive to change direction in air. I used Sonic as his double jump is better than Knuckles glide. The special zones are Sonic 3 style with finding the special ring and you only get 1 shot at it. You can only get the emerald in act 2 and act 1's special zone gives you an extra guy. The water level has you losing rings instead of biting it after the air meter reaches 0(then at 0 rings you bite it) but it counts down quicker than the Genesis games. There's a door maze in level 5 and  kind of a maze in level 2 where you jump into holes and it shoots you around. The bosses ain't bad but the final one you gotta jump on the lower platform and jump on its head before it reactivates. But the top of the area is offscreen and its got horns so its hard to judge where to land. Also the control has steering issues so I often took a hit. For the final battle you get 99 rings and in this game you get hit you only lose 10 rings and can collect the 5 that fly out. Not a bad game. There's worse out there. Oh and the special zones and title cards are cropped and have visual issues being this a port of a Game Gear game on the Master System and they couldn't resize it. Its not as bad as I heard. I had some fun with this one.

I beat Mega Man X on my Gamecube Collection. Good game. Nice sequel to the classic series. Good music and graphics. Good controls. Although firing while jumping on the walls often had me blasting the wrong way. Good power ups and upgrade system. Got the Hadoken which was a nice treat to bust anyone in one hit (Like the Meda Foirce in Medabots). Good story. Clever bosses. Good continue system with infinite tries but using a continue restarts the level. I liked the powered up weapons after upgrading the X Buster. The final boss was tough but I beat him my 1st try and used 3 Sub Tanks. Fair game with good challenge. Glad I got the X Collection.

I beat Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse on my Master System collection. Pretty good game. Micky had some control issues with slipping back and forth when I needed to get down fast or taking too long to pick up items to throw. The bosses ain't too tough once you get the pattern down. its different than the Genesis ver but has a few similarities. The final boss is tough as its a lightning shot firing dragon you gotta throw a barrel at 6x. But it moves fast so you gotta go under it, wait for it to about to fire, jump to the platform, throw it at the head, and run under it before it gets a shot off. After beating that, you face the witch in its true forme and it  takes like 6-7 hits to beat. But you're throwing a lantern at her and when not holding it, it goes black. Also she has 2 orbs flying around. I almost beat her a few X but got cocky and screwed up. Eventually I won and it was pretty good. Glad I played this one. I prefer the Genesis one, but this isn't bad. That's just better.

I beat Mega Man X2 on my Gamecube X Collection. Good game. Solid follow up to the 1st. I avoided facing the X Hunters so I could face Zero at the end. Plus you fight em again anyway in the final act. I couldn't get the Shoryuken as apparently you need the Zero parts from the X Hunters. I made it there though. But the capsule wasn't there. It wasn't too hard or annoying an the upgrades were cool. I beat Sigma with 2 spare E Tanks although I had to keep refighting Zero after I bit it against Sigma before I actually tried. I took a few practice rounds against him as I had a buncha lives left. The wire frame bosses were cool and needed a special chip to do in the Snes version. Good graphics, control and music. Good story where Sigma and Zero return. Although in the 1st game Zero said he took too much damage and bit it and here they just rebuild him and he's good as new despite blowing apart Vile's Mech. The story hints at more connections to Zero's past but 1 part of the ending text says "Humans and reploids living together like Dr Light wanted" even though he only made X and Dr Cain made the other reploids long after Light bit it. Grand game I'm glad I picked up.

So I beat Gunstar Heroes on my Game Gear Collection. Surprisingly good port with new things added,. Yeah they took away the Casino and the spaceship level but it had way more than a Gameboy or NES game could have. Good control and music and graphics but the Game Gear only had 3 buttons so I had Jump, Attack and Start changes weapon styles (Which you couldn't do in the Genesis ver). You still got mix and match weapons and can throw and slide. It had good bright vibrant colors and a good challenge. The jumping could be a bit more precise as jumping on small things like boxes were tricky and you seem to jump in an arch. But its actually really well designed and I'm glad I got and beat this.

So I beat the Master System Ninja Gaiden. Good game. More merciful than the NES ver. Good graphics and music. Enemies take 1 bar out of the life meter instead of 5 per hit. Good variety of power ups. More merciful with ammo and level design and respawn. Its sorta easy for the 1st few levels but gets harder around the ice level and up. And not just cuz of slippage. There's a super nuke used by pressing A and B but it costs life. Although it can save you from getting knocked into a pit by tough foes. The bosses were easy except the final one and the one that hops and floats and fires pellets. The story isnt as detailed but has good moments. Unlimited Continues unlike NG3 and once you hit a certain checkpoint you never go back before it. I liked it but it was sorta annoying being unable to change direction in hair and I often attacked the wrong way if I didn't jump right. I think if it is canon its set after the NES trilogy. Glad I beat it and got it.

So I beat Mega Man X3 on my X Collection on Gamecube. Pretty good. Its the PS1 port and had highly compressed FMV cutscenes. I liked it and as I played Mega Man Xtreme 1 and 2 on GBC I knew some of the bosses. I decided to set Dash to R instead of Y or X as on a Gamecube controller its hard to use B A and X/Y at the same time to wall jump and charge the buster. I got the ending where Zero uses the Anti-Virus and Dr. Doppler probably survives so I didn't get nor need the Z Saber. Its not too hard as you can get Sub Tanks quick and the upgrade parts help. The bosses weren't too hard esp with using the attack they're weak to resets their pattern and you can loop em. Final Sigma wasn't too bad as he'd big and slow but his like a truck. I got the Gold X Chip and it made things easier. Dashing up was weird and took some getting used to as I usually didn't dash off walls in X1 and X2. I liked this one and I'm glad I got and beat it. Oh and I only used Zero in the intro level as I kinda forgot about him.

So I beat Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers on my NES Collection. Not bad. Kinda simple but it takes some mastery to get past a few tricky parts. Good Capcom graphics and music. Good control. Good story. The final boss fights with cigar smoke which wouldn't be allowed today as people are wieners now. It takes a bit of getting used to but once gotten, its not hard. only like 2 or 3 continues but extra lives aren't hard to get. The final level is tricky at times but not impossible. Being able to hide in a box to use it as a shield is creative. I liked it and I'm glad I got and beat it.

So I beat the Master System port of Double Dragon. Pretty forgiving. The enemies are more aggressive and the controls are a bit trickier but it might've been my controller. Its got unlimited continues except in the last level but if you jump kick by using A and B at the same time 10x (In a row??) you keep the infinite continues. And you need em as Machine Gun Willy can kill you in 1 hit with his gun. The Abobo's can be beat by jut standing there and punching fast but if there's 2 of em then they can get through. Unlike the NES ver this has 2 player co op but I got it on my GBA 100 Master System games cart and can't do 2 player games. Also you can't do that trick in the GB ver where you stand on the edge of the spike pit in the last level and knock off anyone with 1 punch. But with infinite continues its more like the arcade ver where you can just keep putting in quarters. With it you are kinda like Kenshiro from Hokuto No Ken where they can'rt keep you down and you just get up and beat on em. The Double Dragon theme playing in the final fight when Willy comes out was pretty cool and the game has good music and graphics. Also you don't earn new moves but also don't have too many to start with like the elbow smash (If it was in there I didn't figure out how to do it). The ending says May you live happy forever or something but in the next game Marion gets iced. All in all its a good game and has good stuff to it. Sometimes its fun to play a game where you can't game over. Sorta like Venom Spider-Man Separation Anxiety with the infinite lives code. And using a continue lets you pick up right where you left off. The only thing lives do is let you keep score. Still I liked it and had a good time with it.

So I beat Master of Darkness on my Master System collection. Its similar to Castlevania with its ties to the Bram Stoker novel (Jonathan is mentioned at 1 point) an has similar themes and gameplay. Its got a good story with this guy using a Ouija board to find out stuff and stop Jack the Ripper. Its got some classic horror refs like a Wax Museum and the music feels like an 80s horror movie (Esp the ending music). A is jump, B is attack and Up+B is sub weapon but instead of a whip you can use a knife, sword or axe, each wit its own range and damage. There's breakable walls with goodies in em and stairs but you can jump off em and change direction in mid air. I liked t and it had a good feel but the last level was a maze that I later found out by looking it up that you have to take out a block over a hole in the floor you cant get to and fall in it (when falling in holes kills you otherwise). Also I don't know why but for some reason the enemies didn't do any damage to me. Spikes and pits still did but enemy sprites and their projectiles just went through me. Same with bosses. Although even if I took damage I'd still have beat it. Its not as hard as Castlevania and has nice graphic effects like a poster blowing in the wind on a wall in some levels. Good game. Glad I finally got around to playing it.

Just beat Mega Man X4. Pretty good. More forgiving than other ones with its regular checkpoints and not being sent back far after a game over. Only 2 subtanks and 1 weapon tank but as zero you don't need weapon energy. Plus weapon energy fully refills after biting it. The graphic and sound are cool with 32 bit style and the heart tanks aren't too hidden. Ride armors are back and can make Magma Dragoon easier but w/o it he's quite hard. I used Zero as he's cool and he plays well. The final fight with Sigma was tough but he's got a predictable pattern and isn't too hard. But his final forme has some tricky stuff. It took me 4 hours to beat it and much of that was the final round. Good anime cut scenes and the bad acting is fun. I liked it and I'm glad i beat it. I never had a PS1 and playing this shows me how cool it could be.

So I beat the Master System version of Rampage using Lizzie. Pretty good game. Simple but fun. I sometimes had trouble getting on buildings byt once I learned I could jump and cling it was easier. No bosses, just go from city to city and take em out. Its fun just stomping around and eating people. I think it has unlimited continues as I bit it a few times but if it was an arcade machine I could just keep putting in tokens. Good game. Glad I beat it.

Game Reviews Volume 3 From 2018 And 2019

More thoughts on games I beat over the years

This one is from the end of 2018 and part of 2019

after years of not playing it, i finally beat altered beast guardian of the realms. its not great, but it gets the job done. its decent and has good voice samples and music. the graphics are ok for the gba and it controlds well enough. its not too hard but some levels can be pretty demented. i liked it but most people didnt. the beast modes are pretty creative most of the time and the bosses can be pretty annoying. but i didnt hate it. although having to use R as jump and A and B to punch and kick was kinda gay. but the gba only has 2 face buttons and 2 shoulder buttons that wear out. at least i didnt have to use start or select. the levels are diverse and have fine backgrounds and the enemies are pretty good cg wise for a gba game. not great. but sorta retro good. getting the other colors of beast mode after replaying the level is some replayability but it gets harder each run through. and if you game over; you go back to having just 1 life. you can get extra guys and continues at times in levels but not always. just rboot if you f it up and its fine

I beat Darkwing Duck on GB. Simple game. Based on Mega Man. Pressing up lets you shield and to jump down from holding something you just press down instead of down and jump (which threw me off a bit). Not too hard. Can be beat in like half an hour if you know what to do. I haven't seen the show in decades but i recall a bit of it. Good music and graphics. Good control. Unlimited continues and you choose what level order to do it in before unlocking the final one. The game screwed up 2x and i had to restart but other than that it wasn't bad. A few parts were tricks but i got through em. I liked it. The bosses were kinda easy though but not every game has to be Contra Hard Corps. Glad i bought it Only cost 23$ Canadian. The only thing that kinda bugged me was the unskippable text and the character stopping to say he's Darkwing Duck every time the level begins or restarts.

So i beat Battle Mania Daiginjou, a shoot em up anime style game on Sega. Its a sequel to Trouble Shooter. Its got great 80s anime style music and is from 1995 (Same as Alien Soldier and Ristar). It never came out here so I got a Repro from Asia. The Story and text is in Japanese but i saw a translated ver on youtube and could read enough Japanese to get by. Before each level you get a super weapon choice that charges until full. then you can use it once before it charges again. You get a life bar that goes up with Hearts Collected and every set number of points. Once its done, Game Over. But you get a number of Continues. Its not too long and the graphics and gameplay are pretty grand. There's an option to fire in 1, 2 or 8 directions. But I used 2 as its simpler.

i beat castlevania 3 on a 150 nes games in 1 gba cart. great game. hard and kind of unfair but good gameplay, music and graphics. the fight with the reaper is hard but i used syfa's fire magic to get through. syfa's sphere spell took out the clone slime easy. the hardest part was the area in dracula's castle wuth the flowing water and fishmen after the stairs with all those shots coming at me. the final level isnt too bad, nor is dracula's 1st 2 formes, but that 3rd forme is random. i think my copy is glitched as the beams he shoots seem to go out, then continue firing shots in that direction instead of full lines (it had gaps). The fight was pretty random and it was hard to get a good shot in, even after taking no hits on the 1st 2 formes. being a gba game, it can save at any time, so i could take breaks yo eat and sleep instead of doing it in 1 long blast. I tried to be able to get through a part before saving to prove i can do it myself. I kept accidentally saving as select + R saves and when i tried to switch characters i often hit R by mistake. I wound up accidentally saving in the middle of the 3rd forme fight and couldnt go back. Even after i beat the 3rd forme, the laser shots kept going on the right and i avoided em in case it was active. great game. pretty tough. and i didnt use the help me code.

I beat Legend of Illusion on my 100 Sega Master System/Game Gear games GBA cart. Its pretty good. Simple and light but colorful and fun. I watched a longplay to see if it was good and what to do and it showed me hwo to beat the tricky bosses. The story is nice and the graphics are colorful and fun. The game has some minor challenge but once figured out its not impossible. I liked it and i'm glad i got it.

I beat Ice Climber on my 150 NES games in 1 GBA cart. Its 32 levels of conveyor belts and clouds in an up scrolling quasi maze. The jumping is a55. Unless you got lots of momentum, you jump almost straight up and fall almost straight down. Plus if you go up, the lower level is offscreen and falling to it kills you. Also the enemies never stop and those c-ck sucking p-ss birds are hard to hit. Sometimes you can jump into and slag enemies but others they slag ya. Everything takes too long. Waiting for the yeti to refill the broken floor, Waiting for the bear to move the level up. Also you cant swing your hammer in the air. And if youre on the clouds when you use the hammer, you stop and the clouds you stand on ditch you. Yeah you can choose what level to start on at the title screen. but the controls are still kinda cr-ppy. Plus that bonus level after beating 8 floors is a55. The f'd jumping controls make me fall off every time. I only made it to the top of the level 1x. At least in Super Smash Bros they were played by the chick who voiced Alexis in Yugioh GX.

I beat Streets Of Rage 1 on my Sega Master System games in 1 GBA cart. Good game. Not as hard as the Genesis/Mega Drive ver but a solid game. I used Blaze and made it to the last level on my 1st playthrough but game overed. My 2nd try i beat it with lives and a continue to spare. The fat fire breathers can be beat by timed jump kicks. The jumping twin girls can be beat with simple jump kicks and the wolverine guy can be beat by just punching and he walks into it (although it takes some attrition). The game boss can be beat by standing in the middle of the room and he just runs into your fists. Good music. Good control. Good graphics for an 8 bit game. Nice bright color and look/ I like it. Just hope Streets Of Rage 04 is good.

After days of playing I beat Ninja Gaiden 01 on my 150 NES games in 1 GBA cart. One of the hardest game I beat. If I jump but aint facing the right direction, he does a weird resisting jump and practically goes straight up/down instead of where I wanna go. Also you gotta be exact when attacking. If I'm a bit off, i miss with his dinky sword, take a hit, and fall in a pit. The worst boss was Jaquio as he fires homing shots that circle around if you aren't on the floor when they go by.  That with his constant movement and having to time jumps to avoid the shots and hit him, plus no magic or special weapons, makes him demented. The final game boss was easier as after falling to him and restarting lv 6, I don't gotta redo the 1st 2 bosses. But I don't get a health refill as the cinematic already played once. I beat it by attacking while watching out for his random fire and saving the fire magic for its core after taking off its had and tail. Good game. Really hard. The anger I had playing it is lessened by looking back at the good times.

I beat Panzer Dragoon Mini on my 100 Game Gear games in 1 GBA cart. Simple game. Not too hard. Decent. Cool 8 bit bosses. Lite. Easy. I only got iced once. My only real Panzer Dragoon game as I never had a Sega Saturn but I played that Sonic Adventure DX air level that i didn't care much for.

I beat Spider-Man Edge Of Time on DS. It cost me 15$ at a flea market and I'm glad i got it. I beat it in a few days and had a good time. The controls were good. They story was nice. The dialogue was fitting. Good number of cameo's from other Spiderman characters. I never saw Spiderman 2099 but I liked his story. Plenty of unlockables and hidden power ups around the area. It wasn't too hard and the only boss I really had any trouble with was Arcade 2099 with his reverse controls and damage level. I've wanted this game for a while and I'm glad i finally got it.

I beat Ristar the Shooting Star on Game Gear. Decent port of the Genesis classic. Runs a bit slower and isn't as responsive but its got a few different levels and bosses like a pirate ship and a Baku who throws pillows. The bosses were rearranged a bit and you can collect stars to get an extra guy at 100. The final boss is pretty tough but I eventually got him. Good graphic and music and colors and its actually pretty fun.

I beat Gradius The Interstellar Assault/Nemesis 2 on Gameboy. Good Shmup. Good power up system. Really good graphics for a 91 GB game. Good music. Fair challenge. The bosses weren't too bad. The game froze on me 2x, one time when i was like 1/2 through but i was playing it on my Game Cube Player. After a cleaning it worked fine. Not too long or hard but some parts had issue. Cost me like 27$ Canadian and I'm glad i got it.

I beat Captain America: Super Soldier on DS. I got it for 10$ and beat it in under a week. Good game. Plenty of collectibles and power ups. Good bonus story of dossiers to tell behind the scenes story elements. Good mix of gameplay. Stealth missions, Beat em up, Platforming, Obstacle course and puzzle moments that work together well. It autosaves every mini mission you beat and refills your life on each new one. Unlimited tries and frequent checkpoints make it not too hard. The level you gotta defend Bucky for 2 mins was kind of a pain but I beat it by stalling on the walking cannon that came out and letting time run out as if I beat it, more guys would come in and end it. The final battle has me fighting a long swarm of Hydra soldiers that are pretty tough. I beat it by staying on the left, spamming my shield and throwing em when they got close. You never actually fight the Red Skull but disarm a missile in the final round by climbing up it and using the touch screen. Good game. Good graphics that are sorta N64 or Saturn style. Good music. I like saving the captured soldiers and they stand up saying "Thanks Cap" to touching music. It just gives a good feeling. Good 2.5D look. And its voiced. Creative boss fight too. I'm glad I got this.

So i beat The Battletoads game Battlemaniacs on my 100 Sega Master System Games in 1 GBA cart. Its kinda glitchy and buggy but its not bad. Some parts are hared yet I did it on Easy. Its a port of the SNES game but reimagines some things. The snake level gave me the most trouble and that turbo tunnel was tricky as you gotta jump after the last ramps in the final reach even though there's no indicator to do so. The last area before the final boss is tough as you gotta duck while standing over the detonator and I had to look it up to figure it out. There ain't many bosses and most of the challenge is just surviving. But I liked it and think even though it's a lighter entry, its a good game. It plays a bit fast with the text though but that might be because its a PAL Region Master System Game. Oh and the turbo tunnel has no sound effects so I gotta use my eyes instead of my ears for the coming blocks like I usually do.

I beat Yoshi's Story on N64. Nice game. Light, fun, cheerful innocent, positive, simple, It can be beat in like an hour. You don't even gotta go to the end of the level to win. Just get enough fruit. L like the graphic and it looks and sounds pretty good. The jumping is kinda loose and it takes a bit of getting used to. On my 1st play through I got the 2nd highest score on the listings and was only a few dozen points off my bro who beat it years ago. Its a good game with a soft jolly vibe.

I finally beat Boogerman on Sega. Good mid 90s game. Great animation. Good level design. I usually didn't make it to the 1st boss as I usually tried to cellect everything and got iced. Good music and 90s style humor and feel.  Its not so hard and regular passwords and infinite continues. If you bite it on the last level you gotta start the whole thing over from act 1 like Ninja Gaiden. The bosses take around 12-16 hits, making em tougher than Robotnik . The power ups are good but go after 1 hit like Mario. He goes down toilets like with Mario and pipes and there's a lot of snot and ooze and spit and phlegm and blasting gas out both ends. I liked it. It controls well and has good voices for a Genesis game.

I beat Digimon Battle Spirit on GBA. Good game. Has monsters from the 1st 3 series with unlockables. Catching Calimon gets you to Digivolve. Sukamon is surprisingly good with his dash. Wormmon is pretty good too. Impmon is overpowered but ant Digivolve. I kinda liked using Agumon and Veemon but Wormmon was cool. Some mega forms ain't so great and are harder to hit the foe with. Millenniummon is a good final boss that's tough but fair. Gabumon kinda s-cked. I liked the game and unlocked everyone in a day. Good cheap quick game.

I beat World Championship Soccer II on Sega Genesis. Good game. I'm not into sports and its my kid brother who got it but its got good graphics and sound. The ball physics are good. Its got images from real soccer games for Yellow Cards and was by Sega Sports. I got memories of playing it in the 90s and its still pretty good. I played it on easy as I'm not into soccer much and haven't played it in years. I played with America and on Challenge Game and worked my way up to beating Germany and Brazil. It was hard to get the ball as you don't choose which players you control and it keeps switching. Also it got pretty tough in the later games. Usually I got 1 guy on the outside and ran to get it in the net at an angle. I hit the side of the net 5x in a row against the 2nd or 3rd last guys. I normally outran the other guys but they got faster and were able to outrun me in the 2nd last and last games. Eventually I had to pass the ball to the next guy to get it to the net. Often I had to go into Extra Innings. Each game was 3 mins but I had replays, penalties and writing down passwords in case it froze again. The cartridge still has that New Sega Smell. Glad I finally got to playing it.

I finally beat Parodius on my NES collection. I used the Vic Viper the whole game as that's what I'm used to. The challenge was tough but fair. The bosses were tricky at times but a few I beat on my 1st try. I had to stay in the safe zone above him and use the missile to beat the pufferfish boss. The final level wasn't too bad and with the 4 penguins firing off guys I accidentally found a safe zone between the 2 streams where they passovered me. Good game and I'm glad i tried it.

After hours of playing I finally beat Golden Axe on the Sega Master System collection I got. Good game. It can be beat in 20 mins but yoyu only get 1 continue. The magic is like the arcade but you play as the speedo guy.it slows down often and some guys take lotsa hits. The worst are the skeletons as they are fast. Eventually I made it to the final boss on one continue and beat him. Great Conan style 80s game.

I beat Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge on Gameboy. Despite being by LJN its actually not too bad. After game overing on my 1st attempt as Spider-Man I played it through to the end in under 2 hours. The X Men levels weren't so bad but Gambit was tricky as you could run outta ammo. Couldn't Gambit just use his powers on the wall and blow it that way? Why waste cards?? Once I got used to the controls it wasn't too bad. Being able to get 2 Lives on Gambits level was needed as I could just do that and bite it and repeat to get more guys. The game boss wasn't too bad. Plus not having a 2nd go for each hero was welcome as I didn't have to endure the Juggernaut or that elevator level in Gambit. No crusher ball for Gambit in this game either. Glad I finally got around to beating it.

I beat Virtua Fighter 2 on Genesis. Not too bad. But after a few rounds the foes get really annoying. They can cream you in a few seconds. It started out easy with beating the guy by pressing down and kick til they went but eventually they seemed to learn my moves. Didn't help that I didn't know any moves from the start. Eventually I learned forward + forward + B B B C s the highest damaging thing. I used Pai as she's my blood type but she kinda s-cked. Kage was one of the 1st to give me issue but the guy before him was tricky. After that I got game over after game over on every round besides the final boss who was in some really low speed area. Wolf has that spin throw that can take me out of the ring in 1 shot that he only did once. Jacky was awful. Jeffry was a heavy hitter and Akira was fat and hit like a hammer.. Eventually I beat it after over an hour of playing and I'm glad I finally beat it. Good 90s music too.

kirby is a bag of aids and human waste. i played kirby's pinball for over an hour and hated it. you cant make him go where you want to. its too easy to get knocked back down the hole to the previous level and have to claw ur way back up. if you fall through the bottom you get a chop at rebounding but it gets less likely each time. to beat a level you gotta get to the top, clear a puzzle and beat a boss. but if you leave that screen even for a moment, it resets and you gotta do it all over again. and there's plenty of sh-t in your way to f--k it up. plus you get limited tries to clear 3 tables and a final boss one. its like that guy in greek lore who rolls a rock up a hill each day and it rolls right back down again. this game is like being in h-ll! f--k you kirby! ur game is a55!!

I just spent 8 hours on the last few levels of lemmings on sega genesis.  7 of em were on the 2nd last level. i know what to do but its easy to screw it up. if ur 1 pixel off its ruined. eventually i got through and beat the last one in like 3 tries. great game. i played xmas lemmings as a kid on my moms 80s computer in the 90s and this game was grand. the music was good and having a pause button instead of hitting the paws icobn was easier. hard game but worthy. glad i played it.

So I beat Breath Of Fire on GBA. Good game. Good controls. Good graphics. Good music. I had a good time playing it. The auto battle was nice and the characters were cool. Fusing them was pretty great I ran out of AP boosting items and had to leave and reenter the last dungeon to face the game boss. I got the good ending and used a walkthrough to get the stuff i missed and make sure i made the right choices. The story was good but kinda lacking after I played Lunar on GBA which had better dialogue and character interactions. Other than tha, great game. Glad I played it.

i beat Mickey Mouse: Magic Wands! on Gameboy, Decent game. You gotta get all the pieces of the pictures to beat the level. Unlike the previous game Garfield Labyrinth you don't gotta get to the exit and the level ends when you get the last piece. There's 40 levels and 4 boss fights tghat i didn't have much trouble with. The only reason I know about this game is seeing a few seconds of it on a 100 Gameboy games in 10 mins video. I got the Japanese version and I didnt really need to know Japanese to get through it. I was able to figure out how to do it  Every boss he beats gives him a new ability so you earn more powers gradually. Its a pretty good game.

I beat Growl/Runark on Sega Genesis. Simple game. Good beat em up. Fun cheesy gore. Not really hard. Decent controls. The plot is its the 1900s and poachers are after animals so you as a Park Ranger or w/e gotta kill em all. Turns out, it was an alien controlling em. Its over the top and silly and really entertaining. I got it for 23$ from Venezuela as a repro and it was a good deal. I previously got a copy from the Soviet Union but that was actually Double Dragon in a Growl Box/Sticker for 27$. Glad I finally got around to doing it.

After hours of trying, I finally beat the last 4 levels of Bubsy 1. 13 and 14 were ok but 15 was annoying and 16 was a trial. Eventually I got through the gauntlet and beat the game boss who you beat by jumping into and keeping it up til she or you bite it. Using glide to hit foes to avoid bouncing up is needed and those gun happy woolies are irritating. That being said, I kinda liked it. Its got personality and charm. The gameplay isn't horrible but once you get the hang of it can be good. You don't get a passcode for level 16 so to beat it, you gotta beat 4 levels in a row. The music has charm and the graphics are nice. I'm glad I got and beat it. It was a challenge, but getting passwords every 3 levels and starting with 9 guys balances it.

Game Reviews Volume 2 From 2018

More thoughts and feelings on games I beat over the years.

This is from most of the 2nd half of 2018

once again I am f'd! I spent another 2 hours on kid chameleon and made it to the last level b4 the game boss with 10 continues. I couldn't make it past the 1st few parts as it has so many cheap pits and kills. random enemies that pop up out of nowhere. floors that fall. bricks that blink out for a bit like mega man. plus you gotta do it on the hoverboard; an item that's ALWAYS moving and you cant stop or take your time in tricky areas. add to that its an ICE level and it just p-sses in your a55 til you leak out ur nips. btw theres no level select, save files or passwords. so if you wanna beat it, you gotta play the whole c-ck sucking game in one go. f this game. it belongs in my a55.

After days of trying and watching youtube vids, i beat Kid Chameleon. I was trying to speed run it in the final level when it needed careful timing.. I had 18 continues left after beating the boss. Good game but those ice levels are awful.

I beat mega man 08 on my gamecube anniversary collection. I never had a pa1 or Saturn so this was my 1st time. good game. pretty fair and balanced. although that speeder level in wily castle 1 was demented. its like battle toads! good 90s music. good colorful graphics. the voicing is so bad its good. I liked it. good simple fun game. plus the screws are cool to collect and have a use.

I beat ghostbusters on sega. good game. jumping ids a bit off. if I'm going left and tap right, I swerve to the right and it f's my jump. good gameplay. good spooky atmosphere. took around an hour or so to beat. there was a glitch where the ladder wouldn't come to get me to stay puft until I left, bit it and came back. but I got a repro cart so it might be that. I liked it. plus good cartoony horror bosses.

I beat sonic pinball party. the last level you gotta get 30 million points in 5 mins. after a few days of trying I did t. Its a good game but some times the pinball goes ways I don't want it or stays in the air as time runs out. good challenge. good music and good graphics.

so I beat trip world on gb. its good. its by sunsoft so its got good looks and sounds. its not long but its a good ride. cute, fun, and encourages not attacking everything u see as most enemys are peaceful until attacked. the end is a boss rush and its only got 1 health power up in it but it can be beat. plus pressing select on the title screen opens the level select and sound test. great music controls and graphics. its really expensive but I got a repro cart cheap.

I beat Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster's Bad Dream on GBA. Good Treasure beat em up. My R button didn't work often but I managed. The final boss was tough  but using Fifi to block his missiles and bullets with a stink cloud I held him off until I got him. No way to recover life other than beating a level or using Hampton and if Hampton is touched in his long set up to heal you, its wasted. Many ideas of this were used in Treasures Astro Boy game on GBA and that was even better (but this was still good)

I beat Where in Time Is Carmen Sandiego? Good game. Most of the clues I knew from 90s shows. If it said the perp went to Naples, I recalled Krusty said in the Italiano ep of The Simpsons "I asks her to show me Naples, and she slapped me!". If it mentioned Japan, I knew it from years of anime. If it mentioned the abolitionists, I knew it was 1800s America as Huck Finn said "I aint no rotten abolitionist!". Movies helped as I knew if it said the perp went to a movie by Rossellini, I knew it was Italy in the 50s from his films on TCM. Same with Sergei Eisenstein in the Soviet Union. Good game that has you gathering clues and hunting perps through history. I liked it.

i finally beat final fantasy adventure aka mystic quest. great game. the music, the old school grafix. the gameplay. all great. the story was later kinda ripped off by sonic 06 with the chick getting caught over and over. the ending was great. that final image almost made me cry. sometimes, an ending, is also a new beginning.

So i beat Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls. Every review hated it. I gave it a shot. It wasn't bad. Its a colorful Street Fighter II Clone that plays fine. No game breaking bugs or glitches. The art is decent. The voices are pretty good for a Genesis game. Almost every level has some lightly dressed babe in the background. The music is fine. Its not super-perfect but its not terribad. I liked it

I beat Zen: Intergalactic Ninja on Gameboy. Good game. Not super awesome, but decent. Its got a Toxic Crusaders/Captain Planet thing with defending the environment from aliens or mutants or w/e. I had to clean my cartridge to get it to work and the D-Pad still f'd out and wouldn't move sometimes. Its not too hard and has good graphics and sound. The charged shot isn't as easy to use as Mega Man. You gotta be standing still when initiating it and if you slide it goes. Good game. Good artwork. Oh and its got a variety of Mini-Games that are simple yet have a bit of challenge. Pretty forgiving too. I beat the whole thing on 1 continue but was down to my last life. Its got passwords too so that's nice

I beat Goketsuji Ichizoku AKA Power instinct on Sega Genesis. I used the bodybuilder chick Angela. She's pretty tough and just plows through the opponents with heavy moves. The only guys who gave me trouble was the mirror match, Keith Wayne, and the ninja. I even got a perfect on the game boss. Good game. Bright and colorful graphics. Good animation. Decent controls. I liked it. Its usually .like 250$ but i got a repro cart for like under 20$. Btw, where is this game set? There's a Shaolin Monk, Ninja, Female Bodybuilder, Axel Stone (Streets of Rage) wanna be and Native American tribe in one area.

just played through sonics story in sonic adventure dx. it starts out fair and balanced. but the later levels are a55!! i spent around an hour on the last level and final boss. bad camera that changes when you move and flickers back when the boss moves. fighting over a bottomless pit like castlevania dracula x on super nintendo. the cheap hits. the cr-ppy 3d that makes it hard to tell where you are. flying off the edge because you used the homing attack and didnt know what direction you were facing due to said camera. making one error and having to start all over. and the final boss has a final attack that takes out a platform you stand on AFTER you beat him (so if you aint careful, he still wins and you gotta do hjim again like White in fatal fury (the rip off of alex from clockwork orange)). the previous level is a55 too with its climbing the walls and falling off over and over. plus that snake water puzzle. and the level b4 that is awful with its conatantly faling off the ship and the tilting in the last segment. video games were not meant for 3d. these last levels are like drinking a butt full of spurm! no wonder toys r us dreamcast stations didnt let ypu play the later levels. they s-ck!! no wonder the dreamcast was segas last console. and i got 5 more characters to beat this abomination with!

so i played sonic adventure tails story. its got some issues. the final level in the city is kinda annoying with it being over a bottomless pit. also tails has no homing attck and has to either aim and jump like in sonic 3d blast but with a moving camera, or use the tail spin which is hard to initiate. theres less levels but most are actually kinda easy. they also are not as long. overall i liked it and it was a relief after the final 3 levels of sonic's story. btw, robotnik lainched a nuke to wipe out station square WITH HIM IN IT! then goes to the nuke after it dont go off TO SET IT OFF MANUALLY WITH HIM NEXT TO IT!! thats the dumbest thing he ever did. i mean the harn brothers set off a nuke with a headbutt in fist of the north star 2. but thats when they were pretty much dead. and were trying to save the world from falco. here robotnik is gonna do it to build robotnikland. even though he'd get obliterated by the nuke hes standing next to when he sets it off. 300 iq genius my a55!!

i beat sonic adventure with knuckles. honestly, hes my fave sonic character. sonic 3 was my 1st sonic game and i thought he was so cool. here his levels werent as bad as sonic or tails. you just gotta search the area for emerald shards. its not bad and kinda nice. sort of an easy going treasure hunt. the last boss is kind of a55 with half the floor being busted and smoking to damage knuckles. also the camera makes it hard to see. but i liked this more than sonics last 3 a55 levels. also the final boss was hard to beat as you gotta pick up ice mines and throw em at him and they are hard to pick up. overall an improvement. too bad his later games treat knuckles like a joke.

i just beat sonic adventure with amy. theres only 3 levels and 1 boss. she has to use an item to fight robots like in castlevania instead of jumping on em like mario. the camera f's with the controls so its hard to know where youre going. also she has a move where she does a super jump if u hammer while running. but if she goes up hill shes a55. also in one part of her story ur in a vision of the past and i looked all over the area for the cutscene to happen. turns out; i had to turn around and go out the door behind me to go to the shrine. and there was no way to know that at 1st. her story is not bad and her controls are easy to adapt to. but the 2nd level is kinda a55 with its spinning the a stick to turn a crank. as well as being able to grab and ungrab the crank to turn the doors. her levels are usually cramped and closed off. but not as hard as sonic. pretty a55 camera though. in the gears part of her 2nd level i fell off but didnt bite it. so i tried turning the camera. eventually i saw i was partly on a diagonal ledge with no way back. had there been more levels it could have gotten a55. still not too bad as is.

i beat sonic adventure with big the cat. everyone hates him. i kinda see why. but i dont. hes only got a few levels and they aint hard. the fishing game isnt too bad. yeah you gotta find the frog and get it. but its not so hard. once you get the controls down the fishing isnt difficult. yeah hes a fat ret-rded monkey. but hes not awful or an a55. the only boss in his story isnt too bad either. although each of his levels could be a boss thing as you gotta catch dat frog. and it keeps getting away after you get it like the princess in sonic 06. but i wasnt p-ssed at him. hes nowhere near as bad as everyone makes him out to be. although due to camera issues i got stuck b4 the 1st level in the twinkle park elevator and didnt know or couldnt tell there was a path on the right. still not bad.

i beat e 102 gammas story in sonic adventure dx. its actually pretty good. you just run around blasting everything. i only ran out of time one and thats when i f'd a jump. the story is kinda robocop with him turning on his creator and fighting for his past. it had some heart too. the boss fights were kind of easy. only the last guy put up a real fight. also; most boss fights in sonic adventure are only like 3 hit wins. what is this? super mario world? in the genesis they took 8 hits each. and some bosses took 16 hits!. but the gameplay was fun and i can see why they brought it back kinda with robotnik and tails mech levels in sonic adventure 2. it was different than past sonic styles but not bad and actually kinda fun.

i beat sonic avdenture dx on gamecube. played a new file to get the story after me and my bros got all 130 emblems in our shared file. i liked the story. it was good to play as sonic again after going through everyone elses level(sorta like using classic superman in the last level of death and return of superman on sega genesis). the perfect chaos fight is a good final boss. not as annoying as the egg viper but not as easy as the other 5 characters bosses. when i faced him i has 1 hit left to beat him and kept getting knocked back. but i kept at it, got more rings and gave 1 final shot (i was not sure if it was 2 hits or 1 left on him at the time) and took him out with 4 rings left. the story of chaos using the negative energy of the emeralds and sonic uses the positive to beat him and calm his heart was right outta dbgt with the shadow dragons. robotnik having a 2nd egg carrier is like that movie contact or w/e where the thing gets f'd and they had a spare the whole time. good way of the story being told in flashbacks that gradually reveal the origins of chaos and the meaning of tikal. plus building the groundwork for sonic adventure 2 battle with chaos control. good game and i'm glad i got around too giving it a full playthrough after playing shadow the hedgehog, sonic heroes, and sonic adventure 2 battle in that order. it had some good stuff to it and around 20 years after playing it at toys r us i finally finished it. if the camera and controls were better tuned it would be better but this was a great start to sonics often good 3d career. i used to be pretty good at it when i got all the emblems but that was a while ago. still holds up well. and an overall good game.

i beat robotech the macross saga on gba. not a bad shmup/space shooter. i never transformed outta fighter mode as my L/R buttons s-ck. i used ben dixon (the "worst" fighter) as he had the highest health and his speed wasnt too fast so i didnt careen outta control. Its not long but you unlock different characters by beating it with other fighters. not a bad game if you can find it cheap. simple, clean, good use of the license and has fair graphics and music. its a good lite game for fans of shmups and robotech. i did have trouble reading khyrons text with his red font but it doesnt affect gameplay. the destroid levels were a nice break, added some variety and didnt overstay their welcome. the leveling up system is fair and encourages you to actually fight instead of evade or hide. all in all, i liked this. had they made a masters or new generation (or even sentinels) game like this i'd've got it.

i beat mighty final fight on the capcom classics collection on gba using guy. i liked it. good beat em up with challenge. the bosses were kinda cheap (esp abigail who grabs and kisses u dead) but once i figured out i could grab them after they attack in some places, i beat em easier. the exp system adds strategy to the game with wanting to finish a foe with a throw or power move to get more exp. the bonus levels with punching 20 barrels i got the hang of easy by going closer to the coming barrel side of thre screen. he elevator level was cheap and cost many guys. the mexican guy with the knife and andore were kinda obnoxious but i handled em. if i run outta lives i gotta restart the level and lose all exp (as well as starting a the power level i was at when i started the level). so if i level up after starting a level and game over, i'm f'd. the game boss wasnt too hard as i just jump kicked him like 200x to nickle and dime him and try to get him in a loop. but it took me a few tries on my last continue and life. level 5 u gotta fight abigail and sodom again and its kinda gay. but i liked it. i had fun. and i never once used haggar. one more NES game i beat on a rerelease.

i finally beat mickey mania. it takes a lot of getting used to. lots of traps and cheap kills. esp in the mad doctor level with the skateboard things you can fall through and bite it if you jump wrong and the ghost level with water that can drain a full bar in a few seconds as you struggle to jump on the floating wood thing. the last level is a gauntlet where you got 3 parts to get through. and if you use a continue, you gotta do it all over again from the start. thew music is great, as are the graphics. but the gameplay is a55!! its like the game equivalent of the 1992 film bram stokers dracula. it looks good but feels bad. that being said, once i got the hang of all the traps i could get to the final level on one continue/ but having to go through it all over after a game over is a55.

I finally beat Mega Man V on Gameboy. I ordered the Japan version as its cheaper and you dont need to read the text to play it. Its pretty good. Not as hard as other MM games and pretty fair. You also fight the Maga Man Killers from the 1st 4 GB games. I had only 40 mins left to do the final level b4 that Amelia Earhart movie i wanted to review came on. I got through it with several minutes to spare. The bosses are based on the 9 planets of the solar system and the sun. Just like the Yugioh GX Manga. I bit it a bunch on some levels but kept the P chips i made and was able to buy upgrades easily with em. The password system is simple and easy to write down. E R T and blank in a grid. The game felt like I had more life than other MM games. I didnt bite it as much. Or maybe the bosses and badds just did less damage.I liked it and I'm glad i got it. Plus i liked them having a bunch of secret gems that when combined, let you use special weapons at half the power cost. The game boss was strong but fair and the rematch with the Stardroids wasnt bad as i creamed em with their weaknesses. Good game set in the distand future year of 200X (between 2000 and 2009). Put it on the history channel.

So I beat Shaman King Master Of Spirits on GBA. Its sorta like Castlevania and based on the 4kids anime. Its good. Decent controls. You refill your life after every level. Good map system. The souls you collect have powers that help. Not all are needed but its fun getting a new power and trying it out and getting to a part of the level you couldnt b4. They got the dub actors to voice stuff and its sort of a midquel during the show b4 they beat Zeke/Hao. I actually beat the 2nd game years ago as i found it at a store cheap and i liked it. This one wasnt too hard and is pretty fair once you get used to the attacking. You gotta complete the attack animation and recover before being allowed to move or jump, which can lead to some hits. But if u bite it, just reload the last save. The story was surprisingly PG for a 4kids thing with characters mentioning being iced (although never saying dead or killed). Looking back, shaman king got away with a lot for a 4kids show. I like this game. Shows Konami wasnt always f'd up and 4kids shows could be pretty cool. Although my DS i was playing it on had f'd l/r buttons so it didnt always work and i could only use the R button to use soul powers. But i liked it. Good use of 21$

i beat alien storm on genesis. good beat em up. can be beat in half an hour but its fun. plays like golden axe but a 50s b movie theme. its like aliens, john carpenters the thing and urotsukidoji. u get 3 continues but its shared between both players. the 1st person levels are good. the bosses are a bit tough but not the worst. the final level has a maze thing i only got through by guessing. i dont know how to bring up the map in it. theres a lot of aliens on screen but after a few trys i figgered out how to do it. the alien designs are cool. some are hob goblins. some are tentacle monsters. some are watto from star wars episode 1. its pretty good and the totle screen has an eye on it that after you beat the game, u realize is the game boss, a huge a55 brain thing with 1 eye in it. i liked it and im glad i got a reprto cart of it for like 17 $. put it on the history channel. they already have a buncha alien shows on there so it'll fit right in.

i was at my aunts place and played knuckles chaotix on my cousins sega 32x. it was pretty good. nice colors, good music, each character plays different. not exactly like other sonic games but still likable. i used the combo of charmy bee and heavy to breeze through the game. got all but 2 chaos rings so red metal sonic nukes the island. the special levels to get chaos emeralds are sort of like the sonic 2 and 3 ones where you go in a path and get blue spheres and have the rings u had at the end of the level as a timer. its sometimes hard to tell where you are or whats next to you so falling off happens a lot. but not getting enough spheres in 1 go is not the end as you just redo the path again to get the remaining ones and only eating rings as time. i liked it. knuckles is my fave sonic character. unlike sonic 3 it doesnt let u go back and try beaten levels to try for the chaos ring bonus levels. thre main levels are big and spacious but not hard. the rubber band machanic is cool and once i got the knack for it, i liked it. getting my partner to stand in a certain spot was tricky but doable. its not as good as sonic 3, but still worth doing all the characters play different and the combo system lets somewhat different playthroughs. plus unlimited lives not many enemies make it not as hard as past sonic games. i beat it in like a 2-3 hours on my 1st play. i'd try it again to get the good ending if i get the chance. oh and the regular bonus levels with you falling through the void is not worth it. you might get a slower roulette to choose the next level but its usually just a drain on rings. good effects though.

i beat wheel of fortunre on gameboy. not too bad. simple. good brain bender. i got things like "mad max beyond thunderdome" and "techinical foul"(that one i never thought of) before beating the final puzzle with Don Quixote. i plasyed it one player as i wasnt sure what i was doing when i started. not a bad game. can be beaten in like 15 mins and allows pausing but has good replay with multiple different puzzles. took me 2 tplaythroughs to bat that final round. i previously beat it on genesis and my moms 80s computer in the 90s. the game here was a bit low speed but playable. not bad if you need to beat a gameboy game quick.

I beat Sparkster Rocket Knight Adventures 2 on Sega. Its pretty gpod. It has several improvements over the 1st game but the 1st game is better in many other ways. This has a password and to get the good ending you gotta get 7 swords and beat it on hard or very hard. I did. The passwords are only given after choosing "no" on a continue screen and keeps track of how many continues you used. The 1st level is pretty tough, esp the forest area and train area, and the boss is insane with shots, arm flailing and only 1 small spot to hit. After beating him and getting a game over I got the password. lv 2 is not so bad but the boss has a homing grab tyhat can loop you. Lv 3 is hard. Going through a pipe system to get to propellers to cut rom an airship. Then an autoscrolling level and a boss that turns you into a midget. I beat both those levels in a row after many tries. Then a mech level that ends in a boxing match with Axel Gear, which is much more bearable than the 1st game as you can block. After beating that on my 1st try, I game overed at the 2nd last level and got the password. This one is a nightmare. A one hit kill race against a electirc chasing thing. A gauntlet of getting through this small area with medusa head like fire ball blasters. A crusher puzzle where you gotta get through 3 moving pillars with gaps and any mistake ends you. The boss here is not tough. The final round is a 3 boss run with Axel Gear (who's hard ) in an enclosing lightning barrier. Then the king boss who is easy in form 1 but form 2 can end you quick. After losing to Axel Gear i got the password and replayed it over and over. On my last run, I was s-cking and had 1 hit left. I figures, might as well try and fight to the end. And i took him out! The mucic was good. As were the graphics. It wasnt as detailed or inventive as the 1st game, but i liked it. Sort of a Spiderman Venom Seperation Anxiety to Rocket Knight 1's Maximum Carnage. I got it as a 20$ repro but it was a good deal as its usually a lot more. I atually wrote down the last password wrong an had to figure out what i errored to get back. Also the demo's are cr-p. Kids can play better than that. He walkls into the same thing over and over until iced. Oh and the rocket pack has 2 charge levels and the 2nd level rockets further and is stronger.

I beat kirby and the amazing mirror on gba. at 1st it was knda a55 with slow control and kirby not reacting instantly to my botton commands. later i got used to it and was able to get it. each level has several exits that g to other places. theres switches that open paths on the hub world to it so you can go to any area once unsealed. i perfer going from 1 level to the next in a row. often i was wandering around or just used a youtube vid to get through it instead of just eating time going in circles. its got good color and animation and art. the bosses arent too bad once you get the hang of it. pressing down and jump makes you slide and you only jump through platforms pressing down 2x which is gay. in the final battle theres like 4 kirbys who get in the way and make it hard to tell whats goimg on. i liked it, but it took some getting used to.

I beat Ms. Pac-Man on Sega Genesis by Tengen. I did it on Easy with Mini maze and used th Pac Booster. It was pretty good. I liked the music tune it plays at the start of the game and the colors were good. Its a simple game but you only get 2 extra guys and only get 1 more a 10 000 points and none after that until you use a continue and reset ur score (sorta like Double Dragon 01 on Gameboy). There's 32 levels and the Power Pellets last for different times before the ghosts turn back. Often right as they turn invincible I'm chasing one and get iced. Also often with the Pac Booster it doiesnt let me turn wasy and i get iced. Some levels are black with shine where walls are and it can be tough at times to know where you can go. It took me around 2 hours to beat and after using up all continues or starting the game you can start on any level up to 7. I liked it and am glad i got it. Its also got a 2 player mode and various options that change the game. I find going after the dots and not worrying about eating ghosts or score after gettoing that 1st extra guy is the best way to win. There is fruit to collect but thats just points. Good game. I had it since he 90s and beat it after over 20 years of having it.

After days upon days of playing I finaly beat Super C (Super Contra on NES) on my Contra 4 DS game. Really hard. Theres guys coming at you and shooting from everywhere. The worst level is level 6 with its top down inability to jump or move fast. If you hit the screen clear power up near a grenade thrown from the background in lv 1 then it bursts and kills you. the final level is an ordeal but i eventually got good enough at it to get by with just the pea shooter. I didnt use the code and if i screwed up early on i'd just reboot. Eventually i could get to lv 8 on one credit with several lives remaining. The final boss is not hard but its morew getting to him through that last level thats the challenge. Its hard but pushes you to keep trying as it can be beat in around half an hour. Alspo i found i missed guys with my spread gun at times i was sure it shouldnt miss. Glad i finally came back to it and finish it after all these years of not playing it.

Game Reviews Volume 1 From 2017 And 2018

A bunch of thoughts and ideas of games I beat or played over the years.

This edition goes from 2017 to halfway through 2018.

I just played the worst game ever
fighting simulator 2 in 1 flying warriors on Gameboy
its a game with 2 segments.
a side scrolling beat em up thing
and a 1 on 1 fighting thing
the fighting this is cr-p
it just doesn't respond
a circle shows up on u or ur foe
and ur supposed to hit it
but you don't respond
often I'm spazzing on the controls and the guy just stands there
eventually he does a move I didn't mean
the foe jumps back and jump kicks ja for massive damage
and I flail on the buttons and nothing happens as I stand there and get hit
to add insult to injury, this ryuken looking c-cksucker stops the fight and sez
this is no good. read the instruction booklet
good advice,
but I bought this game used and cartridge only
and no site online has scans of the manual
might as well say
to play this game you gotta 1st see London after midnight
it just p-sses me off when people don't understand me
and when I see an attack coming and seizure the controls, only to stand still and get KO'ed is just gay
after like an hour of this cr-p I turned it off and slammed it on the ground
the cartridge had a cunk come off and I taped it back on
playing this game is like trying to tell someone who doesnt speak English how b0ne
and you cant use visual aids

I played double dragon advance and my gba l and r buttons are kinda cr-ppy. so i went through the whole game unable to jump and i had to do a running kick to get over jump things. i also had to drop my items in the jump. but i still beat it

I Beat Mega Man Zero. Good Game. Got Some Difficulty. The Characters Have Angel Blade Helmets.

I beat devil hunter Yohko on sega. good 80s/90s game. some parts are kinda cheap but you get like 40 guys and theres plenty of checkpoints and theres only 5 levels. good graphics, kinda ok controls and nice music. Sorta like Valis but different balancing

I beat Mega Man Zero 4. Thats all the Zero games. Good series. Good way to end it off. Had feelz

I beat Garfield labyrinth on Gameboy. In America its a Ghost busters game. In japan its Mickey Mouse. But I prefer Garfield. Good puzzle/Platformer. Like the Password System. Level 39 was a pain though.

I beat Bonk's Adventure on Gameboy. Its good. The final boss was a worthy challenge. Takes like 33 hits. That's over 4 Robotnik's! Or 11 Koopa Kids!

so I got and beat kof 99 for xmas
its bootleg
I fought
andy terry joe ryo Robert, bison guile ryu and cyclops from xmen
I used a eam of 3 andy boards cuz I played him in the abridged series

I beat WeaponLord on Sega. Good game. Full of big buff barbarians chopping each other. Good combat system. Graphics are well colored. Art is good and fitting. Nice dark yet colorful atmosphere (like Violence Jack Evil Town). Controls pretty well. Each character is designed different and has their own style. Like Fatal Fury 2 the game boss gave me less issue than most of the fighters (I beat him my 1st attempt). It has passwords to resume after certain points. I beat it my 1st day of playing it with Jen-Tai who fights more defensively after several hours of fighting.  It came out in 95 when the Saturn and PS1 were out so it was overlooked. But its worthy. Sorta like Conan or Berserk but 16 bit.

I beat the 1st Klonoa game on gba. I liked it. good light puzzle platformer. very satisfying. wish they made a sega genesis version.

So I finally beat Ranger X on Sega Genesis. Its really good. Simple controls, Great 80s style music and amazing graphics. It came out in 1993 but has an almost Playstation look. Its got strategy and isn't just running in and blasting everything. It takes evasion and skill and tactical retreats to get by. Plus there's hidden weapons that can be unlocked by finding them. There's only 3 lives to start with but you get more by getting points. Plus you play as a cool blue flying mech with a cyber cycle that you can lock into.

I beat bonk 2 on gb. it was pretty good. kinda simple but enjoyable. the game boss put up a good fight though. in the 1st bonk you gotta hit his face. here you gotta hit his crown (the opposite of game 1). plus I kinda forgot to do the flip to headbutt him in his final form so it took a while. good thing I had 15 lives. its got a password system too but I never used it as I never game overed.

I beat astro boy omega factor on gba. really great game by treasure (alien soldier, gunstar heroes, dynamite heady). good messages about not treating others like cr-p cuz we disagree with em or they hate us. if ever rereleased it might change hearts and minds in malcontent America and Canada.

I beat chiki chiki boys on sega genesis
its colorful and fun
I beat it in around 2 hours after several game overs
its not long
but its fun and cool.

I beat pirates of dark water on sega genesis. its pretty good. I faintly recall the tv show from the 90s and thought it was cool. Unlike the cancelled show and snes game, this tells how the story ends. My copy was microwaved or something as the sticker looks like cr-p and the game goes colorless or color f'd on certain levels.

I beat mega man 4. it was pretty good. a few cheap areas. a few unfair parts. and the 2nd last wily machine was hard to hit. I perfered mega man 3 for gemini man's level as it has really good nostalgia but this was pretty decent. oh and I did it on the gamecube anniversary collection so A is shoot and B is jump like in Action 52.

I finally beat the sega genesis x men 1. it wasn't so bad on easy. but the game stops half way through. on normal the hits take too much life. plus theres many times I get hit, take damage, fall in a pit, and bite it. good thing for the code to choose what level you want. i'd hate to go for a whole hour playing only to lose night crawler and have to start over on the last level or fight unfair traps. but I only skipped levels I beat b4. didn't wanna be a full cheater.

I beat ducktales 2 on gb. good game. classic Capcom fun. too a bit to fully get hot to do but I had fun.

so I beat clay fighter on sega genesis using icky bod clay. simple game. not too challenging. the game boss was a fight. not bad. not long. its decent. the theme music is pretty 80s.

I beat bomberboy/atomic punk/dynablaster on Gameboy. you gotta earn then buy upgrades and abilities. and each level has its own gimmick. not bad. takes some getting used to but I liked it. good early Gameboy bomberman game

so I beat animaniacs on sega. pretty good. great 1994 konami game. several cameos to the show and other konami games like sunset riders and Castlevania. good animations and art. infinite continues and an easy password make it possible to beat even if some levels take some time to get. the wild west level gave m the most troub;le with the saloon and the train boss but it was still a good game.

I beat Lunar Legend on GBA. Great JRPG. I cared about the story. The characters were well written. It had some twists I didn't see. I leveled up a bit to get stronger before going on so I didn't really get a game over. Plus I only had characters bite it once, in the game boss, and I revived em right after. As I never had a Sega CD I never played the original but I think the GBA port is a good game.

So I beat Bleach, The Blade Of Fate, on DS. Its by Treasure and Sega. They did really well. There's different stories focusing on certain characters an each plays different. It covers the rescue Rukia arc and plays great. Too bad we never got Bleach Flame Bringer.

f it! I made it to shao khan on ultimate mortal kombat 3 and lost hard as u only get 4 credits and cant increase em and I used em up getting to him. I tried again and his time kABAL was impossible on the 4th last round. I easily beat him in my last playthrough but he kicked my a55 and countered all my plays this time. on the plus side, I easily beat motaro by jump kicking back and forth so I know hes not a threat.

so I beat megaman 06. pretty good. not the hardest, but it had its good moments. of the 1st 6 i'd say 3 is my fave for gemini man's level colors being nostalgic. but the NES megaman games were  pretty good.

I beat Syd Of Valis aka SD Valis. Its the cartoony chibi version of the 2nd Valis game. Now I beat all 3 of the original Valis trilogy. The game can be done in like 30 mins but is bright, colorful and fun. No continues though but its not that hard once you know how to get by some bosses. for the lv 4 one I stood in the corner and used the 3 way shot and fired endlessly while it fired and occasionally swooped into my line of fire. I was in the safe zone.

I beat Mega Man 07. Good game. With Rush Find its easy to max out on E Tanks. But you only get 04 of em max. pretty air game, although the final Wily Machine needed all my E Tanks. I liked it. Put it on the history channel as its set in around now.

it took like almost 4 hours but I beat puyo puyo 2 on Gameboy. I needed those unlimited continues and had to pause often to get out of tough spots. on the final round I was a few seconds away from losing but won when the opponent bit it. tough game at times, high speed puzzle action. and I liked it.

I beat Guilty Gear X: Advance Edition on GBA. I used the blonde with long attacking hair. the game was pretty easy as I just ran up to em and used my slash attacks to rapid fire attack em. I did not lose 1 fight on normal mode and got several flawless victories. even the game boss wasn't hard. testament put up a ok fight though. but besides that the game was well made and had good style, animation, grafix and music..

So I finally beat Super Thunder Blade on Sega Genesis. Its a chopper shooter game where you  move in circles to dodge endless fire. Level 1 is good. Lever 2 is in a cave and you gotta dodge shots and rock pillars. level 3 is good. and level 4 is unplayable. you gotta dodge buildings, limbo poles and endless enemies. and you gotta do each level in 1 go cuz if you run outta guys, you start over. and you only get 3 continues. the game can be beat in 20 mins, but you gotta get good at it. I spent 4 hours on it today to beat it, after a previous 2 a few days ago AND watching how to do it on youtube. even then I only learned how to go back by pressing b in the top down areas from bracy's review. after many attempts, I made it through level 4 only biting it once. and I needed to get good cuz that final boss is insane. good 80s 16 bit music though.

Mean Girls Review

Note; i spell better than most high scgoolers
mean girls
this is my review on mean giels
itsgot lindsey lohan, rachel mcaddams(the macaddams family?! like that addams family 90s ep??) daniel de santo from beyblade and are you afraiod of the dark, and david reale from beyblade
and no one else i know of
its by tina fey who a lot of gay guys like and was filmed in soviet canada
ew, its by lorne michaels
saturday nuught live s-cked!!
mad tv is better!
so it stars starts with lindsy going to school for the 1st time as she was home schooled while her kids i mean rents were in soviet africa
so tina fey is the teacher and is kkind of a loser
shes not used to rules and structure and they try to make it look bad
she makes friends with a gay guy and a sarcastic gundge girl
they get her to skip class and say shes hot
theres a group f popular chickkks who are blonde and cool
so of cource they are the bad guys
imagine if they made barbie th bad guy and some losers were fighting her
main chick (imma call her regess after the robotech character and her name is rrgena) is the most popular girl in school
so shes the worst bad guy
its like if miss yvonnee from pee wees play house was the bad guy and pee wee and reba had to stop her
daniel desanto/ray from beyblade hits on lisndy and the cool girls start getting along with her
so grundge girl hates regess and her, lindy and gaymo chat in the little girlds room
then lindy falls in love with a guy
so later the cool girls give her the rules ad regess is trying not to eat fatty food
but fat has little impact on weight
alsi the guy linsy likes is regess's ex so she cant have him
later a nerd asks liindy for a spot iin the mathlete thing as they get 2x funding if they have a girl
thats racist
imagine getting more funding iif you had mexicsans on ur tean?
later the cool girls go shopping and tell lindsy to not join mathletes
rehess sees her ex with a girl and calls girls omom prwtending to be from planned parent hood to ruin her dating
thats pretty dark
rehess's mom is trying ti ve a friend instead of a mom
the cool girls then whine about their flaws
they have a book where they write cr-p about teens
later tina fey comes by and dont synchro with the lindsrey and the losers
she wants lindsey to join matjletes but gayboy tells her no
later regess calls lindey ND sez she found out se likes the ex but is ok wth it
later theres a halloween party and all but insey dresses like a h00ker/fighting game girl
also the bimbo has made out with her cousin
snl was always pretty progressive
regess tells ex thatindsey is totally into him
then kisses him and lindery seez but bf didnt consent
she goes back to her loser friends and the girl loser plans to ruin regess
so later regess seems to be back with her ex and the lindsey and losers f=do
later regess tells linsey she used to be friends with loser chick but loser was mental and had turned queer or something and she dfitched her
then its christmas and gayboy fakes being santa and gets lindey a candycane saifd to be from regess and tricks the 3rd cool gorl into thinking regess hates her to get her secrets
the cool girls do jingle bell rock dressed as h0kers/anime chicks but wearing more
but the tape screws up and 3rd girl accidentally kicks the boom box out
so lisndey sings the song and they contrinue
so 3rd girl turns on regess and outs all her secrets like regess b90ning some guy a lot
so they send her ex ex to the place where she b0nes hom but it fails
then they give her swedish weight gain bars for africa kids
why not slip her hormones to turn her into a hermaphrofdite?!
then they spread gossip about her and lindsey turns more into one of the cool girls
loser girl sez lindsey's perfunme from regess smells like a baby prostitutie
well, a lot of hollywood is into that
woody allen, roman polanski, ect
also lindey trys seducing ex ex and he declines but she sez regess is xheating on her
so he dumps her and shes bummed
plus the bimbo sez her b00bs can tell when its gonna rain
so lindey dates tthe ex ex ex
so they nominate all the cool girls and the loser for prom queen and regess is getting fat from the bars
but i dont show
so linsedy is f'ing out at math and she writes that tina teacher is failing her cuz shes doing drugs in the book
so indey is becoing more like regess and they are falling out
so later regess is too fat to wear her real clothes and has to wear sweat pants and the cool girls kick her out
like taking out the czar to let in stallin
so is this like a teen citizen kane?
where this good person turns rotted after a while for success?
later lindey has a party and everyone came
also rehess comes uninvited and ex ex ex finds lindsetys innocent pictures as a teen
btw this kinda happened in real life
lindsey lohan kinda went off the chain from fame
but not as bad as miley cyrus
hope the girl from andi mack dont get into p0rn0
so ex ex ex has enough of lindey and ditches her
then loswrs come by and loser chick is b--chy over not being invited
also over lindsey being one of the cool ones
then regess finds out from her new bf the bars are weight gain bars and she snsaps
she shoots up the school and ends herself
jk
really she writes a mean thing about herself andputs her picture in it
then gives da book to the principal and sez she found it in the giirls bathroom
then he calls the 3 cool girls for not being in it
then regess spreads copied pages of the book on the school and everyone goes ape over it
its a brawl like in urotsukidoji V where the chojin made everyone kill each other
btw this happened but less mental in harriet the spy
principal hits the fire thing and the water and bell stops the fight somehow
so they have a thing where the gitls go in the gym and talk
they do exercizes and talk their issues out
oh and the gay guy is there for sopme reason
are they saying hes not a real man??
thats racist
they do this thing where they confess their feelings and fall into the crowd
loser chick comes out about all the cr-p she did to regess and regess runs out and gets hit by a bus
so the school investigates every claim in the book cuz 1 tewacher was into asian students
so lindey comes oyt and sez its made up
esp the teacher selling drugs
and lindsey joins mathletes to atone for her sins
and its the same time as the prom
so lindsey realizes bringing others down womt makre u better
nd wins the mathlete thing
so they go to the spring fling and lindsey wing prom queen
also sge went there after mathletes
she gives a speech how everyone is a winner for showing up and breaks the crown up and throws pieces around
so she makes up with ex ex ex and the nerd indian huy trys dating her as he likes non whutes and ses lebanese
but north africans count as white
like greeks and turks and italianos and egrypions
white isnt just blonde hair and blue eyes like sailor venus and rangiku matsumoto
also; thats racist
later regess gets into sports
bimbo gets into wether as her b00bs controll the weather
3rd girl hangs with asians
exex ex goes to another school but she still has him
then jr cool girls come in
but lindsey sez she can handle em
the end
that wasnt so bad
i mean it didnt make me laugh but it was a good teen movie
a lot happens in 2 hours with adds
its got that mid 00s feel like when i was in high school
i remember in drama class a guy who later went gay did a monologue from it
its not awful and has quotable lines
too bad snl dont got this feel
foor mean girls 2 i want the new cool girls to start their rise to the top and ascent to becoming the new coolest girls in school. but the losers try to stop them with rumors and pranks. so one of their parents is a hitman and they have him sniper the girls who go against them. but not to kill, only to blow off parts. also its a horror movie where the coool girls dad being the hitman isnt revealed until the end. also its a 32 bit light gun game on sega saturn and playstation where you play as the dad and gotta take out the limbs and noses and stuff of the teens who wronged his kid and friends and you get more points for accuracy but its game over if you ice em.
